Mystery Wedding Gift- Where is Perry Mason?

Okay so- FI and I got a wedding gift yesterday. We opened it, so I could write a thank-you note. The card was signed by someone we do not know- we asked all sets of parents, and THEY don't know who this woman is.

I'm like, "no worries! I will go to the registry's online thank-you note manager, and we will find her address so at least we can write her a thank you!"

They don't have her address in there because she bought at the store! Crap!

So... apparently we've gotten a gift from someone we don't know, have never met, and I can't write a thank you! It is driving me bonkers.

Has this happened to anyone else?

    That's strange, but kind of cool.  Maybe some random person just decided to buy someone a wedding gift, picked a random registry and went for it.

    That is wierd.  Is it an unusual enough name that you could google it and see if an address pops up, or some type of info about her that might clue you in to who she is?

    I wonder if maybe someone accidently bought off the wrong registry? That is weird!

    Hmm, I would think it's either someone who sent you a gift because they selected the wrong registry, meant to pick a different couple.  OR, could it be a date of one of your guests.... maybe?

    Haha...Mary, I think Perry Mason is a detective from a book or show or something....lol.

    That is so strange that this happened to you.  I received a gift in the mail and I wouldn't have known who it was from either if the ticket hadn't of said to bill to the sender and it listed her name under that part.

    As far as I know, Perry Mason is a fictional defense attorney.  That's what made me confused.  I didn't know why receiving a gift from an unknown person made her need a defense attorney.

    I was being funny (I guess not so much) I meant "Where is Perry Mason when you need him?" Because yes he is a fictional defense attorney but I used to watch the show when I was little and he was frequently known for solving crimes (all in the name of serving his clients.)

    Anyway. Actually I found out who it is- although not the address. My mom called and said she thinks it's her somewhat-odd neighbor who she's met twice, but saw my wedding invitation and "loves brides." She moved away so I guess we may never be sure it was actually her... it was sweet of whoever it is, which makes me want to send a thank-you note, but oh well.

    No it was funny, I just didn't get it right away.  Since you were in need of an address it made me wonder if that was the name.  And, actually, I've met someone named Perry Mason, so it was strange in my head.  I was thinking that you'd need a detective, not a defense attorney, so I wasn't sure what was going on. 

    It's been a long week.

    I like Perry Mason better than detectives, it's always good to have a lawyer in your corner. :)

    But yes, I agree it has been a loooong week. Soon it will be over though!
