I'm wearing my shoes during the ceremony and pictures, but I have an insute reception so I think myself and most of my guests will kick off our shoes during the reception
I wore my platform wedges for the ceremony and pictures, then changed into my toning sneakers before dinner. Those sneakers sit up higher than regular ones, so I still got a bit of height.
I'm looking at platform flip-flops on eBay for the photo tour. I don't want my dress to drag, so I need something with serious height, but also something comfy.

I brought both of my shoes to my seamstress, and she fit my dress to the flip flips, since I wore those the most. It just so happen that I was fine with my dress being just a little too short for the ceremony, since I liked the way it showed off my pink shoes!! :) And most people didnt even notice that my dress was a little shorter, just myself and my seamstress noticed. She is a very close family friend, so she was at the wedding.
So if you are planning on changing shoes, and you can bring them both to your dress fittings, maybe your seamstress can help you too! :)
thank you everyone - this is great feedback! i can't unfortnately do flipflops at all b/c my problem is that my dumb ankles need support
but there are great ideas here. and i like the idea of having the seamstress help - i did find a very comfy pair of shoes that is 1/2 inch shorter than the pretty pair so maybe she can help there.
I got my shoes from FootSmart.com. They specialize in shoes for people with foot issues, so they are incredibly comfortable. Mine had memory foam insoles. I was able to wear them all day/night without any issues.
if there is one recommendation I would ever make, its about SHOES! You need to wear comfortable shoes after the ceremony and pics! Actually, you need to wear comfy shoes the days before your wedding too, when walking around Vegas. Because my feet KILLED me & I actually did wear flip flops and Converse for most of the time.. but even those weren't enough. Splurge for the Nike Airs- you can get custom made VERY cute ones at nikeid.com.
Re: comfy shoes - past vegas brides, what did you do about shoes??
Wear them while you are walking and walking and walking. Bring your "real" shoes to dinner and dance in.
Was that your question?
I am wearing heels for the ceremony and for dinner, but I bought a pair of white flip flops that have a bit of a wedge to wear while walking.
If you are just concerned about heel height being bothersome, than I would go with a pair of jeweled flat sandals. Something like this would be cute:
They don't offer much support, but they are cute!

I'm wearing wedges instead of pumps. Found these at Nordstrom, very comfortable, and also available in red, yellow, and white.
