And (backstory: we were married in October last year,) as we were watching it, we absolutely cracked up at the very beginning when the priest said, "The Lord be with you," and everyone responded, "And also with you!" It sounded so...
weird!
Our future children, when they watch our video, will be like, "what the heck are they saying?!"
Isn't it crazy, all those changes were not even 6 months ago!
Re: So we just (finally) got our wedding ceremony video back...
Of course, I live among very stubborn Texans. My kids will probably grow up hearing both the correct and the old form.

boo! I would be so annoyed! <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-frown.gif" border="0" alt="Frown" title="Frown" /><div>We have a bit of that here, but I think (hope?) it's mostly just people forgetting and reverting back for a word or two.</div>

It's pretty rare, but I have heard from several people, "I learned it this way, and that's the way I'm doing it!"
If you listen to Catholic Answers Live, you'll hear someone call in about every other week to complain about how the wording "isn't pretty" anymore. Like aesthetics is the point.

My father is probably among those who probably won't learn the new. He is still mad at Vatican II and feels that they made him change once, he's not doing it again. If Latin mass was offered where he lives, he would go but he lives in rural Maine where our home parish is the only parish within 20 miles and the closest Latin mass is over two hours away.
As far as asthetics go, I think some of the new words are pretty, like "I am not worthy that you should enter under my roof but only say the world and my soul shall be healed." I think that is so pretty.
Even holding the cheat sheet, I forget and say "And also with you" most times!
[QUOTE]I get so proud of myself when I get it right, and then without fail, I mess up the next change because I get comfortable lol

<div>I do this all. the. time. Inevitably I am feeling smug because I have gotten through one part without error, only to instantly mess up the next time. Lots of lessons in humility for me!</div>
