Looking for wedding coordinator in South Maine/ Portsmouth NH area

Hey All,

I'm recently engaged and looking for some planning help from someone with experience in Southern Maine. I am from Toronto, Canada but my fiance's family has a beach house in Ogunquit Maine and we have always thought we would like to get married there.

Any referrals or ides would be appreciated!
Thanks!
Jessica

  • Hi Jessica! Congratulations and welcome to the board! Ladies.. correct me if I' worng, but I'm not sure anyone on here is using a coordinator? I think everypnes pretty much doing all the planning themlselves, atleast the Majority- and I tried racking my brain to see if I knew anyone who used a wedding planner, and I can't think of anyone, but if that changes, I will let you know!!! congrats again!

  • I used a wedding planner! Meghan Torrieri from bmerry events. She is out of Portland Maine. You can google her name and find her via facebook or the web. If you can't find her, let me know and I'll send you her contact information.

I seriously cannot recommend Meghan highly enough. She is super nice, very organized, and helped us tremendously with some pre planning and then of course, execution the day of. We used her moreso for the latter, but she can help as much or as little as you need her to. I just wrote her a super long letter of recommendation and much of it surrounded how my husband was really hesitant to hire her and then at the end of the day say she was well worth the money, and then some. Good luck!

Hi Jessica! I live in Portsmouth and am getting married in Cape Neddick/Ogunquit on September 1st. (Wedding is technically in Cape Ned. but guests are staying in Ogunquit and other events are there as well). I am also born and raised in this area, so I like to think I know it pretty well. :)

My wedding coordinator is Diana Ma. http://www.dianamaweddings.com/ She is out of Hooksett, NH, but does lots of clients in the Portsmouth/York area. So far she has been AMAZING. I chose her because her prices were reasonable (IMO) and she focuses on day-of and month-of coordination, not designing your entire wedding for you. Since we are at a private property, I felt I absolutely needed someone to help me coordinate all the deliveries and details you have to think of when you are not working with a typical wedding venue. I also want to enjoy my wedding day and not worry that everything is going right!

I highly recommend Seacoast Weddings as a resource. Here is their website: http://seacoastbride.com/ and if you are in Portsmouth, please stop into Summerwind Jewelers & Goldsmiths (my store) for a free copy of that and NH Bride (not as helpful for those of us getting married in Maine, but also a nice mag.)

  • Jessica,There is a new group called Southern Maine Wedding Planners. They are a goup of "vendors" from the Portland and Southern Maine area who help brides with all their planning. They include a wedding planner, photographer, designer, dj, and alterations specialist (I think there's a few more professionals in the group also). They will help you with any or all of these areas, and are very cost effective. They are located at a boutique called Fancy THAT! in Portland, and their number is 207-318-1031. Hope this helps!
  • You could also try Enchanted Events of Maine. I've heard great things about them, but not sure if they travel to southern Maine. You'll have to Google them for their info. Good luck, that sounds like a great spot!
