Weekend/Monday Accountability

How did you do this weekend eating/exercice wise?

Friday I got arch supports for my running shoes, my right foot has been bugging me so I tried those. Did a 2 mile run at 17:43. Pretty good for running in 24 mph winds too! My lungs sure did hurt after that though.

Saturday I cleaned the house and made homemade chicken enchiladas (yum!) but did not workout.

Sunday I had an 8 mile run. Its taper week for my marathon (I wish that would be over already). So I lounged around all day until my friend got done working and we went. Finsihed in 1:22. Not that bad for having a sore foot and she has an injury too.

Today is a rest day. Then I have two smaller runs, 3 and two miles before the weekend and my Marathon on Saturday.

Right now I'm waiting for it to warm up a bit to put about 30 miles in on the bike and a quick run behind it. I will likely actually do this this afternoon with a swim tonight behind it.

Saturday lots of walking at the renfest.

Sunday I ran my first sub 8 middle distance run! I ran 8 miles at a 7:56 pace! OMG I am so proud I could pop! After this weekend's 70.3 I plan to really focus the winter on 1 staying active (winters are rough with joint disease), and 2 harnessing that speed to make it more regular. I'd like to see some sub 8 races come spring and a low 8 half marathon! Hello boston qualifier!

Today I'm making chicken enchiladas, that is funny. I made home made scones yesterday. I may make some cookies for in the car later this week sine anderson is a 8.5 hour drive!

  • Stina cant wait to hear about your marathon! Good luck! I know it is your first.

    Sunday is my 70.3 :D

  • I wish I could run that fast. I probably never will be able to. I had knee surgery back in high school with them actually removing my knee cap, stretching the legaments and putting it back on. They also removed cartilage. Running in the cold is not fun for joint issues that is for sure!

How do you make your enchiladas? I just took boneless skinless chicken, threw them in the crock pot with stewed tomatos, onions, cumin, chili powder, a pinch of salt and pepper. Later I add corn and then shred the chicken, put it back in the crock pot to soak up the rest of the juice.

  • I'm probably going to stew the chicken this afternoon in the oven with whatever i have in the fridge(peppers tomatoes onion etc). We're cleaning out this week since we're leaving town friday.

  • Ok so it ended up being enchilada pie instead but really good. I also have been cleared for the 1.25 mile swim. My anticipated finish of that portion is 40-50 minutes.
