dark underarms and a strapless dress!

Hi ladies,

I know this is possibly a problem a lot of brides share, but I have a few weeks left before my wedding and I don't know what to do! I'm medium skinned and my hair is jet black, so my underarms are darker than I would like them to be. I stopped shaving them, I changed deodorant to the crystal, and nothing has worked. I heard waxing helps, but my skin is sensitive and I don't want to break out in a rash. Is there any home remedy to lightening dark underarms?! Help!

  • I can't wait to read the suggestions because I have the same issue

  • Hmmm well I was going to suggest maybe putting a lighter shade of foundation on them but then it might get onto your dress....really I wouldnt worry about it. I PROMISE no one will notice or care. Every bride is stunning on their big day no matter what imperfections they think they have.

    Just rock it!!!

Good luck...I know Im no help but hoepfully someone knows a remedy to this
  • Dove deodorant helped me, im pale and my underarms had a 'tan' I tried not shaving as often but when I switched to dove deodorant it helped within a week or two. I also made sure my razors were new, I got less ugly irritation.
  • hey girl. i totally hear you on this. i have the same problem. i have heard that a natural remedy is using a mix of lemon (cut half open) and sugar as an exfoliant. I imagine it would have to be on more of a routine to achieve an "over time" result rather than a one shot fix... I have yet to try it..though...

hmm now you have me thinking. i didnt even consider this issue for my strapless...
  • Thanks for the suggestions ladies!

I've also heard about the lemon and sugar exfoliating scrub, but I have yet to try it. It sounds like it's worth a shot though!
  • i am in the same boat!  Gotta try them lemons.  i put a post myself on this topic and some one also said to try Dove deodorant.

here's to hoping for lighter underarms!
