S/O Name Calling

Do you have names for your close friends/besties? I don't call any of my close friends by their names.

For example:
Karen - Karebear
Megan - Neckie
Chrissie - Chrispie

Re: S/O Name Calling

  • My brother's name is Russ, but I call him RB or Rustopher most of the time. RB stands for Raccoon Bastard, which is a nickname I gave him for his habit of fiddling with stuff constantly. Like picking up and handling the salt shakers at the table, or flipping his phone open and closed constantly. Just reminds me of a little raccoon picking stuff up to wash it.

  • heh. Tons.

    Jessihooters, Yessica, Meggala, Megalicious, Bagel, Gorgeous, Pretty Girl, Baby Girl/Doll, Dollface.

    The list goes on. Mostly for girlfriends.

  • No, I pretty much call them by their names.

  • No. I call them by their names, or shortened versions of their names.

  • The only ones who have nicknames are from college
    Megan = meggy or meggypants
    Annie  = Annay
    Rebecca = becca or beccaboo (drunk nickname that stuck).
  • Well I call Christy "Fishy" and Becky "Georgia"
    Oh wait, you're not talking about the knot. Nevermind then.

  • Moose, I have a question. When you're playing Wow, do you call them by their characters or by their real names?

  • Manjinder = Jina
    Kellene = Kellz
    Janet = Fuman Chieu
    Tynisa = Ty
    Greg = Greggie

    Everyone else gets called by their name pretty much.

  • I call my best friend anything with the words "sugar" or "bear" in it. It started as a joke poking fun at people that always say stuff like that. And it's since stuck. We're really lame.

    I usually call my sister "sister" in a really southern voice.

    I call my little brother "littlest brother" and he calls me "biggest littlest sister" (I'm the youngest of the older sisters)

    I give lots of people really stupid nicknames. It amuses me.
  • And I call my gay Fish. Ha, I never though about that before. But he was Fish way before the other fish in my life.  :)

    At one point there were 3 of us with the same name working together so we were:
    KimmiPooh (that's me)
    Blondie ( bet you cant guess her hair color)
    Spookey (I have NO idea, think she wore a pin that said that once and it stuck)
    I still call Blondie,Blondie and she calls me KimmiJo.
    Everyone else I call by their names.

    ETA: I call my son Peanut, B-Man, or Beemer.

    This strikes me as really funny because my dad is a boat captain, albeit tow instead of tug, and his brothers have always called him Sparky. Weird.

  • Not everybody has a nickname and there's usually a story behind it. Everyone else gets called by their real name.
  • I call my MOH a lady part word that we use locally. Or I call her meatball. Or McMuffin (my family has called her this since I've known her)
     Josh: Joshy Poo, which we figured translates to 'josh you piece of sh!t'
    Laurie: Snorie.

    And myself, I'm never called by my real name. What I'm called is actually a regular poster's nickname here.

  • Funny... I read this post and thought about it... and realized the only friends I really have nicknames for are my BMs. All four of them! LOL!

    Kristi = Cricket
    Angie = Angel
    Heidi = Hooter
    Sara = DQ

    Yes, there are stories for all of them....

    Pretty much everyone else gets called by their name.
  • Katie, my mom used to call me Becca Boo. :)

    I call my sister Puttanesca and my best friend Snotface.

    I know I'm not Moose but...if I'm in a party with all people I know, we go by real names. If we are in a large raid or with other players we don't know we go by our character names to avoid confusion.
  • Nomi, Nomers, Mon, Taytee, Halfanese (not a racial slur to her), ShelleyBelly, RandeePandee, KeyBean (Kathy), Stick Chick, EJ, Linda Lou, Annie Fannie, Ginny Lou.

    My cousin's name is Russell, but his dad always wanted his name to be Bocephus, so we call him Bo, or BoBo. He has turned that into Beaux.

    My step-brother's name is Adam Jr., but everyone calls him Brud. That is a common cajun nickname, though.

    My aunt still calls me Sarah P Lizardbutt.

  • My aunt calls me nothing but Claire de loon. She wanted my first name to be Claire. Although a lot of my family calls me Lauren Claire, just like here, without the numbers.

    'OMG that made me die.  Hilarious.

    I call all my friends bitches.  I forget to tell them this first though.
  • Amoro, that's the only reason he can't get mad at me for that nickname: he finds it hilarious also.

  • We call our friend Kristin "stupid" because she's booksmart, but lacks any common sense most of the time. It's endearing, really.

    Amanda is called Manda.

    LeeAnn is called Leelee.

    I'm really creative.
  • Nikki (sister)- sissy
    Jenn- Jennibum
    Janel- Nude
    Katie-Brads
    Kathleen-Kit
    Jake (FI)- chipmunk, I am squirell, which is where I came up with my screenname

    FI has nicknames for all his friends too.

  • squirrelly, I'm going to need an explanation of your sig pic.

    Please and thank you!
  • There is:
    Alissa - Alis
    Shae - Winston
    Emily - Em
    Christy - Batto

    Tim - T Kup

  • I normally call my best friend by her first and middle names, but occasionally we'll call each other "Pwincess Buttacwup" (thank you very much, Impressive Clergyman from The Princess Bride).

    I call the rest of my friends by shortened versions of their names.

    FI and his guy friends, on the other hand, have established nicknames that they've used forever -- including Trout, Bubba, Face, Binny, and Panda.  A few of them go by their actual names, but it's a rarity.
  • I have a Melissa = Pepers, but that's about it.  Hmm.
    Leo says hi. He's...special.

  • We call his friend Jeff Jihad sometimes, or Jeffrey Jewspeh because he's Jewish.  Oh, and his friend Brian we call Hardly because of an inside joke, and Brian's wife we call Urn (her name is Errin).  But otherwise, I call everybody pretty much by their regular name or regular nickname.

    I call my two BFFs all sorts of names as they do me.  Usually it's along the lines of "heifer" or "homie" or "G-funk" or something stupid like that.
