NWR - Newest Addition To Our Family!

Hi everyone! Since wedding season is dying down, thought I'd share that I recently adopted a dog by the name of Dolly! She's a beagle mix (Jack Russell Terrier or Chihuahua possibly?) and I love her! She has some separation anxiety issues, but I've been working on it with her and she's getting better everyday! :)

Here's a photo:

Anyone else have pets?! I've seen some of them pop up on here from time to time... ;)

    Oh my gosh, so cute!!!

I FINALLY got Steve to agree to us getting a cat yesterday :) He was hesitant because he didn't want a litterbox in any of the common areas, so I suggested that we put a 'pet door' on the door to the basement and keep it down there. Solutions!

How cute! I like beagles! I don't have any pets cause I'm allergic to them but growing up I had a beagle, I used to eat his dog bisquits when my dad would give them to me to feed him LOL! He lived in a nice outdoor doggy house because of my allergies. Good luck with Dolly! Brea~ good luck w getting a cat!!

Brea - Yay! I love cats, but unfortunately my FI and I are allergic to them. :( Funny thing is I didn't start to have cat allergies until I turned 20! Weird...

Jtoly - HAHAHAHA I used to sneak dog biscuits when I was little, too. ;P You're not the only one!!!

Tanq - Ahahahaha your caption for Tanq's pic is HILARIOUS!! Made me laugh out loud...literally!

    Here are more pics!

Dolly sleeping on my lap, worn out after a play date!

Still worn out, she found a comfy spot under my friend's coffee table! GO Niners! ;)

She enjoys watching Sunday football with me... :)

    More pics to come!

UGH.  I seriously love Dolly.  This is causing me problems because I kind of wish I could reach through the screen and rub her belly.

Diana have you tried them as an adult? I was convinced they were good until a few years ago, at a party ofcourse, I decided to eat one. Not so good as an adult! Lol

Tanq - Hahaha. Well, if you could I'd let you take her and socialize her with your dog! She needs more socializing for sure! I gotta find some controlled socializing activities in my area...maybe SPCA, but I think they only have socializing for puppies. Hmm...

Other than that, the only other major issue she has is separation anxiety. I've been working on it with her constantly (pretending to leave, come back in). Definitely helping! She doesn't whine anymore and we've only had her since Friday! :)

Jtoly - Haha nope...I look at them and they just have a funkier smell than they used to as a kid. Haha, so I don't want to try anymore ;P

Dog parks or obedience classes are helpful in socializing. We take Maus to home depot with us to socialize her with ppl and on our walks we run into lots of dog owners. Congrats on your new addition!

<div>Thanks for the tips! Yea, I want to take her to dog parks (the previous owner said she loves them!), but I just don't want other dog owners to get mad when she barks/pretends to bite their dog. :( And it's not the playful kind because her tail is down! lol. She has some jealousy issues, I think...</div><div>
</div><div>I take her walking every morning and evening and we run into dogs and their owners, but the owners are so apprehensive to let my dog approach their dog! So far only one couple let me have Dolly approach their dog. She doesn't bark at bicyclists anymore, so that's good! I just need to expose her more, and thanks for the tip on obedience class. I will probably take her if she still continues to bark at other dogs...</div>
