Ok - so OF COURSE I want to be in comfortable shoes for my wedding. Who actually ever wants to be in UNCOMFORTABLE shoes? But then of course I want them to be super stylish, match my dress, etc etc. Here is my dilema:
the shoes I love are borderline impractical. They are a higher heal then I might normally wear - but they dont initially cause any pain when I am trying them on, walking around, etc. Now I know - there is a chance, that when wearing any heals for an extended period of time, there tends to be some tenderness, pain, soreness, etc.
We're doing a ceremony at a chapel, a strip tour in a limo, then dinner with our friends followed by a night of drinking, etc.
Is anyone else out there worried about their shoe choice and how it will play a role in getting around the strip, etc? I am contemplating some other options:
1. Where the awesome heal for ceremony and pictures - change into something practical for banging around Vegas - maybe even a flat, cute flip flops, etc.
2. Just get the practical shoe and be less likely to worry about it at all (although, even a more practical heal might cause some tenderness later on in the day)

Re: The shoe decision
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.
Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
...so now I am on the hunt for some hot pink platform flip flops...send suggestions if you have them!
I will wear heels when we party that night..
I will be wearing very ugly yet comfortable sandals for my ceremony (since my dress is very long). During the pictures after the ceremony i will put my gorgeous shoes on AND wear them during the reception as well.

lol hilarious! that's how i feel! But wouldn't you want the comfortable ones for the reception too? just a thot...
I wish I would have just worn something comfortable the entire time. No one could even see my shoes because of my dress!
These are my "backup"
My biggest worry is my foot falling out of my shoe. I wear super high heel all the time and am comfortable in them, but I like having my foot strapped into the shoe. Hence the backup pair.
I hate flats. I have yet to find a pair that has good enough arch support. I am was more comfortable in a pair of 6inch stilettos than a pair of flats.

For me, it's not the height of the heels, but my piggies need to spread their wings. They must be either a sandal or a peep toe and leather so they can stretch to accommodate. The carlos shoes were synthetic so no stretching for me.
Partying all night in 4.5 to 5 inch heels shouldn't be a problem as long as there is the airing of the toes.
Now with more wedded bliss.
I don't get married often, but when I do, I do it in Las Vegas.

[QUOTE]Those carlos shoes killed my toes. I guess they are made for a smaller foot. I was bummed because I wanted them in red.

Good to know. I just bought them on Saturday. They were comfortable enough whiile I was trying them on. I'll have to wear them around the house to be sure. They were on clearance at Macy's. So not a big loss if I have to find another pair.
I wear an 8.5. But I did notice some other pairs of Carlos were really narrow in the foot. (I was looking for a new pair of wedges for Vegas at the end of the month.)

I wear a 7.5 and it was WAY too tight. I tried on the 8's and they were too long. Also, they are a synthetic upper so they don't stretch. Mine weren't even comfortable when I tried them on. I had to practically toe-horn my toes in. SO sad. I love them so much.

[QUOTE]I've been trying on both pairs back and forth - the impractical heal does not fit 'perfectly', and I think that is why I keep doubting myself. I bough them on Zappos and they were WAY too big (even adding some cushioning in the back would not have helped) so I returned and got a half size smaller...and they fit...but my right foot is ever so slightly wider than the left, and I can ever so slightly feel the difference. The more practical heal is a sling back, and fits perfectly with the strap adjusted. The more I try them on and walk around in them, the more likely I think I am going to go with the more practical heal. I think its just a safer decision. Higher heal: http://vip.zappos.com/rsvp-rain-cushioned-by-foot-petals-fuchsia-satin more practical shoe: http://vip.zappos.com/me-too-jeanette-fuchsia-satin Oh - and I found fabulous flip flops at Victoria's Secret if anyone is searching - lots of colors (and I especially like them because they have a heal). they are running a 2 for $30 special.

I couldn't open that link, but I recognzied the name- I have the same ones! I haven't decided if I'm keeping them, but I do LOVE them, and they seem to be pretty comfortable. They're just a tiny bit tall for me to be 100% convinced in wearing them all day.
