Candy "Bars" at the Reception..

So I am doing the candy bar favors  (where you put out a variety of mini candy on a table in nice vases etc and have guests take it home...)  And I found these to put the candy in:

They would cost me about $70.00 with shipping.

Does anyone have any better or cheaper ideas??  I have searched around and I can't seem to find a better deal than this one...

Any input would be appreciated!  Thanks!

[QUOTE]Can you find plain white boxes like that, that are cheaper & spray paint them gold?

The white ones are the same price! I lucked out with that...

  • My cousin used small white paper bags she stamped a design on last year for her candy bar. They were the size our school concession stand uses for popcorn.
  • Have you looked at oriental trading.  We got these from them. http://www.orientaltrading.com/wedding-treat-boxes-a2-3_1194-12-1.fltr?Ntt=wedding+treat+boxes

But they also come in solid colors and have bags as well.

  • I am having a candy bar buffet also.  I went to the local party store and bought small chinese take out boxes (15 cents a piece) and I'm putting a little tag on each of the boxes attaching it with a small ribbon. So i'm putting maybe 30 dollars or less into my boxes tags and ribbon.
  • You could also do clear favor bags like below... with some twist-ties?

I believe in a lot of things. I believe in fresh tennis balls, the healing power of bunnies, and that the novels of Susan Sontag are something I'll never read. In fact, I don't even know who Susan Sontag is. What is she... like... a painter? I believe in Crystal Lite because I believe in ME. I believe in the movies of Val Kilmer, though these days it ain't so easy. I believe in Darren Sproles, the word "dabble", the first season of "Silk Stockings", and big, warm, moist, gooey chocolate chip cookies that melt in your mouth and all over your face.

I did look at these and I need 200 of them so it's about the same price as the gold ones.  I am going to have to shop around! thanks :)

[QUOTE]I'm having a candy buffet. I bought little pink bags from Michaels and I used a custom made Etsy stamp that has our names, wedding date, and the saying love is sweet on it. The stamp was $30 and the bags were about $3 for 12. They had a variety of colors and they're the perfect size. You can check out pics in my bio to see what they look like. Good luck with whatever you decide! :)
