• Have you ever posted any wedding pics? Since you don't have a married bio I've never seen any pics from your big day :(

I don't have any digital photos.  We got married right when digital was coming into play (2002) and we were leery of it.  looking back it's dumb, but at the time we only knew 1 person who had a digital camera so it wasn't common at all.  I don't know if we have any loose photos, I think they're all in a book (this was also before you got rights to your photos), but I'll see if I can take a photo of a photo or scan some.

    Posted by iamjoesgurl
A couple of things come to mind.  1, learning to deal with our schedules - I was in school days and he was working nights.  2, learning to balance our finances.  Neither of us had ever shared money with someone else before, and I spent a lot of time worrying about spending money when i wasn't making any.  it took a long time for me to get to an "our money" mindset instead of "H's money."  3, gender roles.  H grew up with very traditional gender roles and I did not.  It took us about 6 years to overcome that.
  • What is the one thing that you remember from your wedding that makes you think 'I am really happy I gave in and spent money on that'? Also whats the one splurge you regret, if any?

Ooh, that's a really hard one.  I am really glad we got a videographer.  Having the video is wonderful, especially since so many of our loved ones have passed since then.  I'm also really glad we splurged on our guest book - we got a document from <a href="http://www.documentsanddesigns.com/" rel="nofollow">www.documentsanddesigns.com</a> instead of a traditional guest book.  It was significantly more expensive (about $150 for the document, plus framing after) but it's a piece of art hanging in our home that we see every day.

Splurge that I regret....honestly, I'm not a splurge type person, so my regret is not splurging on the amazing seamstress.  My dress fit fine, but just fine.  It could have been amazing.

When I figure it out, I'll tell you.  Honestly, it's hard.  We're very intentional in spending time with one another when we are both off, which is once or twice a week.  We try not to plan things individually at a time when we know we can have time together.
What was your first pet?
My dog, Samu.  He was a Viszla.  I got him when I was 6 and we had to put him down 2 months before our wedding.

    The Poky Little Puppy

Too many to name!  I keep coming back to The Church Laides by Lisa Samson, The Hunger Games, the Harry Potter series and The Chronicles of Narnia though.
Popular book that you hated?
Hmmm.  I honestly have no idea on that.  I'll have to do some thinking.

I'm apolitical.  I haven't taken the time to research yet, so I don't know for whom I'll vote at this point.
What's your favorite quote, ever?
From Tom Stoppard's <em>Rosencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead - </em>"We're actors, we're the opposite of people."
Fav. bible verse?
The worry verses, specifically Matthew 6:34
What are some verses that have inspired you to be the woman you are today?
I'd have to pull my Bible out for that one (I'm at work, it's at home) but 1 John has always been a favorite.
You said you didn't grow up with traditional gender roles, care to elaborate a bit?
Sure!  My mom was the breadwinner, by a lot.  My dad was a SAHD for a while.  Dad did dishes and vacuumed, Mom mowed the lawn.  Both did laundry, both cooked.  I was the only child, so any "boy" activities that Dad wanted to do, I did too.  I played a lot of sports, built things, worked on cars.  In fact, we still have a bed that my dad and I built together.
Any advice for newlyweds?
Communicate.  It's so easy to get wrapped up in what we're doing and forget to talk to our partners.

Good question.  Somewhere in there I would love to fit a "big" vacation - you know, someplace far away that does not involve visiting family.  Top of my list are London, Tuscany, Australia and somepalce tropical.  I've already done London and Tuscany but H hasn't.  Also, we'd love to do Williamsburg at Christmastime.  Looking at that as a future anniversary trip.

<div>I didn't know what else to do :-P</div><div>
</div><div>Seriously, that's really how it came about.  Originally I wanted to be a high school counselor.  At that time in Oregon, counselors had to have both a teaching degree and a school counseling degree.  My plan was to get my bachelors in psych with a theatre minor, then get my masters in teaching and teach while I did a school counseling program.</div><div>
</div><div>I finished my theatre minor my freshman year of college and decided I wasn't done, so I opted to do a double major (I also had a coaching minor but it wouldn't fit on my degree -true story).  During my junior or senior year of college, I realized that school counselors do not do what I wanted to do - I wanted to work with kids, counselors do a lot of scheduling.  The actual job description did not interest me at all.</div><div>
</div><div>My theatre director suggested teaching theatre, so I ran with it, and here I am!</div>

Leave cupboards and drawers open - seriously, I walk into the kitchen in the morning and every door/drawer is open! - and leave his clothes behind the bedroom door so it doesn't open properly.  Oh, and the man eats me out of house and home.  I can buy a package of 5 sausages on Monday night and when I go to get one for breakfast Wed morning they're gone.
