Tartan Park Lake Elmo, MN

Hey everyone,
I was just wondering if any of you has attended a wedding at Tartan Park in Lake Elmo, MN? My fiance and I just toured it this past weekend as a possible ceremony/ reception venue and are really considering getting married there. We fell in love with the reception area, but the only problem is that we weren't able to view the outdoor ceremony site because it was completely snowed in. We put a 2 week hold on the reception area for our date (June 25, 2011), but before I make my decision I'd really like to know more about the ceremony site and they didn't have any pictures of it so I have no idea what it looks like! If anyone has any information or pictures of the Tartan Park ceremony site, I would greatly appreciate it! I just can't commit to having my wedding there without knowing what the ceremony site looks like!!!

My Fi's bro got married there in August.  It was pretty.  They got married inside.  I was told that if they wanted to get married ouside the reception had to be outside too.  That doesn't make sence to me but anyways.  Where do you live?  I know for Fi's family it was pretty far away and some people had issues with that.  The food was great though.  They had a buftee.  Sorry I don't have any pics.  HTH some :)

We toured there as well. They told me that they were working on building a new outdoor ceremony spot but at the time (Oct 09) it wasn't done and they didn't have a date for completion, and said it probably wouldn't be done by the time I needed it (this July). Until that is complete, their outdoor ceremony location is a pavillion on a hill, you have to rent chairs and everything out there. I never heard anything about if you had the ceremony outside you had to have the reception outside too.

The reception space was nice, it was actually one of our top selections for a bit, but I decided against it partially because of the room layout. There were some places that people would have to sit where they wouldn't be able to see the head table at all, and I really didn't like that (I've been at a wedding where I couldn't see anything and hated it!). The outside space is gorgeous with lots of photo ops even though you can't go onto the golf greens. I can't remember off the top of my head any other reasons we decided not to go there, it was just something that didn't fit right for my personality, but it is a really nice space.

I also have a friend getting married there this August and absolutely loves everything about it so far!

Ditto SaraTerra. We toured it this fall and thought the property was super beautiful, but I was turned off by the dining space as well. It's split up into 3-ish rooms, and there are openings between them, but with the lower doorway clearance, not everyone would be able to see the space.

But, an outdoor ceremony there would be beautiful!!! And I LOVED the wrap-around deck where there was plenty of room to step out and get fresh air!

Thanks for all your help, everyone! :) My fiance's dad works for 3M, so he is in the process of contacting people for more information for us as well.
