Hotels near Il Villaggio...

Il Villaggio brides, which hotel did you use for your OT guests? I got quoted $130-$160 a night in a few that I visited yesterday. I feel like that is a lot, all of the weddings that I've been to and stayed at a hotel its been about $100 per night. Please let me know your experiences with the hotel and shuttle service. Thank you!

IHi fellow Il Villaggio bride -  booked the Hampton Inn, It includes 2 rides there and 2 rides back of free shuttle service. I visited the hotel and it was really clean and they were really nice. However, I locked into an amount for my block in 2010 because they advised it was going to go up in 2011. I think the new price is $109 or $119 but I locked in at $99. They also offer a free deluxe continental breakfast for all guests. If you book more than 10 rooms per night (it must be per night not consecutive) you get a jacuzzi suite free for yourselves.
I look at a few other hotels as well, the holiday inn was $99 but it grossed me out personally and they were not accomodating.
I also visited the hilton, the renaissance and a few others but they were much more $$$.
    Hope this helps.

I looked at the the Marriott, Hilton, Holiday Inn, and the Hampton. I didn't have a good experience at the Hilton.  I thought the hotel was kind of gloomy and dark.  The Marriott was real nice but the shuttle service wasn't included unless you booked atleast 20 rooms. Also, the bar closed at midnight so I would have to pay extra to have it kept open until 2am.   I wasn't a fan of the Hampton Inn because it didn't have a bar that was open late and I really wanted a private breakfast gathering not just a continental breakfast.  The Holiday Inn (Hasbrouck Heights) actually was the most accomodating to me.  They guarenteed us rooms in the tower that had just been redone.  They offer shuttles service for 50 people.  They have a bar that is open until 2am.  They also can accomodate a private breakfast for me.

I need to find a hotel as close as I can get it to il Villaggio. My wedding is on the Friday of Labor Day weekend and I really concerned with how the traffic is going to be in that area. I live in Old Bridge and its a disaster by me on that Friday.

You're lucky if you got the shuttle for free.  They told me that I needed 20 rooms (40 people) to be blocked before the shuttle would be free.  I really didn't think that I would get 20 rooms so I choose not to chance it.  They were going to charge me $99 for a king and $129 for a double.

Ellie- The Holiday Inn is charging $129 for king or double.

I better look at my contract again but I thought it said free shuttle service up to 40 guests.  I needed 20 rooms blocked for a free room for myself.  It is the Courtyard on Polito.  The rate I got was $109 for king $129 double.   I test drove it to and from the Il Villaggio and it took 6 minutes.   It would cost extra to keep the bar open until 2am.  Last call would be 1:30 though.  My reception ends at 12:30  so I do not think it is worth it.

It's interesting that they aren't knocking off the price per night for your guests. The standard rates is 109/king and 129/double. Has anyone gotten a discount on the actual room prices in addition to the free shuttle services?

i did my room block with marriott in lyndhurst (1 polito ave) and im honestly having a terrible experience its really annoying dont work with alison.. they never return calls, breakfast is not free for your guests and apparently if people use their reward points to book their room they cant get on the shuttle service (you need to pay for a shuttle for those people).. the bar isnt open until 2 am if you want it to be you need to pay 200 plus tax and tip (this is literally just a fee for a bartender includes nothing else) for a bartender to be on which i think is crap if you come back from your reception at 12 12:30 its hardly any bar time .. last week allison probably worked one day and whenever you get to talk to her she has no answers always has to ask her boss and then never gets in touch with you about the answer...

honestly if you want the free shuttles i guess its worth it thats why i went with them the rooms are 109 for a king 129 for a double .. the rooms arent bad but theres no bridal suite.. I was so embarassed because a bunch of people found the rooms cheaper online and booked online then alison couldnt use our "code" for those online bookers to get on the shuttle...

i would try to go to another hotel and get shuttles for free because im getting shuttles for free and paying for additional shuttles for my points people and online booking people

I dont have one complaint about any vendors or customer service so far except for the hotel... my parents house had a fire and they had to live in a marriott for about 2 months the service was wonderful just not so great at this one...
