Mexican restaurants for shower

I am trying to help my FSIL find a restaurant to have my Friends shower at. We live on the east side, and would prefer something in that area.  Also thinking a place where we could get some app’s/drinks but still have a private/semi private room to open gifts…of the Honeymoon kind of side. Since our Theme will be Mexico, shadowing our Honeymoon…a Mexican Rivera cruise.  –they only places that come to her mind are the cookie cutter places, Ol’ Mexico and Don Pablo’s. ---maybe think a smaller place that will offer free space!?

    I'm pretty sure that Boca Chica has private space... Barrio in Lowertown might have a semi-private space as well (and the food is de-freaking-lish!).

    I was also gonna suggest Boca Chica!! Sooooooooooooooooooo good!!!

    I would second Barrio, not sure if they have a private space or not, but the margaritas and decor are excellent! You could also try La Casita or Acapulco.

    Check out Mi Familia in Woodbury!!! DH and I go there all the time - the owner is awesome and would probably be very accommodating for a party/group. They don't have a private room, but the restaurant is quite large and you'd likely be able to have the back half of it for your event. The food is fantastic; it's authentic and very much like La Cucaracha on Grand Ave. in St. Paul. Don't let the strip mall facade fool you - this is probably one of the best (but lesser known) Mexican places in the Twin Cities. Highly recommend!

    Acapulco has good food.  Pepitos in South Mpls has really really good food - it's FI and mine fav mexican place.  Not sure if they have a room there.

    Barrio in St. Paul for sure! I was there on NYE. Sounds just what you are looking for :)
