Hey ladies, not sure if it was mentioned yet but the price of stamps is going up in Jan 2012.  SO, if you plan on sending invitiations in Jan, get your FOREVER stamps now!!  It will save ya few bucks since stamps are going up!

    I heard the postmaster talking about this the other day when I went to mail a few things.  So if we get stamps now, are they good in Jan or do we have to have the stamps with the new price?

    Dumb question.... do they have forever type stamps for postcards?

    If you get forever stamps they'll be good no matter what the cost is at the time you send them.

    Forever stamps are good well forever.  So you can buy them now at the normal price of stamps and they are good even if the price goes up.

    Thanks for reminding me! I definitely need to get at least one invitation together pronto so I can figure out the weight and buy the stamps.    I am just waiting for my red cardstock to come in at Michaels then I will be putting them together.

    <div>This isn't a dumb question. I wasn't sure, either, but I guess they don't. I bought postcard stamps for our save the dates and there really wasn't any option at all. They just had one kind for 29 cents.</div>

    FYI: Postage doesn't go up until January 22nd.

    SO if you're not having RSVP cards (I'm doing an online RSVP) As long as you get your invites out before like the 10th, I'm pretty sure you'll be perfectly fine.

    The Forever stamps are only good for standard weight envelopes... so if you'd need more than a first class stamp now, the postal rate increase won't matter.  I need the 64 cent stamps, so I'm just going to wait... but I did buy forever stamps for my RSVP envelops :)

    Yea it sucks they don't do Forever postcard stamps.  I ended up getting regular 29 cent postcard stamps + 3 cents extra in stamps for each RSVP card just in case.
