Re: help with theme ideas

  • You don't really need to have a theme. I would just choose a color scheme or decor scheme you like that complements the venue and stick with that. If things get too themed it might appear more like a birthday party and less like a wedding, know what I mean?
  • I agree with the above poster. "Themes" can be things that coordinate everything together, but shouldn't be based on things like you mentioned.

For example, in a castle you might want to go with vintage items, like lace, gold candlesticks, vintage plates, then tie together all the colors into the items you find.
  • i have had the issue of it looking like a a birthday party. thankyou both for your advice. :)
  • I think u should go for a theme. Themes say a lot about your personality, and as such they can be as subtle or as loud as you would like. Really loud: medieval or Disney princess attire; moderate: fairy princess using things like swirls, glitter and lights to create that type of ambience but no costuming; subtle: design your own wedding crest with ribbon use on invite, napkins, etc. and match your colors to the crest, have matching ribbons as well on bouquet, tables, etc.
