I need makeup advice.

When you have picked your jaw up off the floor and found your eyebrows please keep reading.

I am having trouble with eyeshadow. It begins to fall off after a few hours and either gets in my eyes or is down onto my cheeks. I am not using more or different than before. What am I doing wrong?
I would like some makeup that provides more coverage for the wedding day than what I normally wear. I am considering using a liquid. Good/bad?
How exactly does one give themself a smokey eye without looking like they have a black eye? I could google, but I'd rather ask you.

Honestly, I've learned way too much from Youtube. Tiffany D/etc has some great advice for smoky eyes.

No to liquid eyeshadow...no.

Sounds like you need a more finely milled eyeshadow, better brush, if not a sponge tip (gasp, i know) or even finger application. Primer does help the longevity of wear of your eyeshadow as well.

Sorry, I meant liquid foundation. I would never try liquid shadow. I'm pretty sure I'd poke my eye out.

I'm going to second the Urban Decay Primer Potion - that stuff is fantastic. They have 2 tones - one is more of a matte and the other has some shimmer.

Bare Escentuals is fantastic, and they make a smoky eye kit.

i love the colors in the kit. wetting the thin brush and using the dark shadow as a liner (or over a liner) works well.

Eyeliner ( the grey would likely work better with your complexion and the kit)

Make sure whatever mascara you use is waterproof.

Look online for tutorials, use the tutorial in the kit, and practice.

FWIW, I use pretty much only bare escentuals. Occassionally I have issues w/ the liner powder getting elsewhere on my face, but it's usually because I put too much on the brush. Wetting the liner brush helps as well. I, too, LOVE the smokey eye kit. They also have a primer that works pretty well. I think it's called "Prime Time" and I'm pretty sure they have one specifically for eyelids.
