Snow Day!

We only got a dusting, but apparently the back roads get really bad in this kind of weather (thanks, katielynn!).

I'm annoyed that I got up and showered and put on makeup, but I'll take it! Maybe I'll actually get something done today now since I'm up early.

Lucky!! If I were you, I would just go back to bed!

It's freezing here, about 10 degrees but the "feels like" is -5 degrees, but we don't really have any snow.

Its been snowing here since Saturday, we keep getting these lake effect bands from lake ontario. The best part, the winds are blowing south and somehow since the driveway is covered mostly in ice all the snow has blown into the yard so I dont have to shovel anything but the very bottom of the front steps!

betrothed - I'm really surprised, actually. I thought LI was bad about closing for a few inches, but this is just a dusting! I can understand if there are tons of back roads that the buses can't handle well, though.

dani - stay warm! Some places in AR are getting 1-3" which is pretty unheard of here.

I need to dry my hair, but I'm totally awake. I'm sure I could go back to sleep, but I might as well get stuff done.

Nebb - that's pretty awesome! My parents finally bought a snow blower a few years ago and it's come in handy. We live in an apartment complex, but so rarely get snow, we normally don't have to worry about it.

I would love to get a snow blower but we would have no where to store it - our garage has been broken into numerous times so its useless to try and keep anything in there (its completely blocked off by trees which arent ours to cut down, so you cant see people breaking in from the street). I remember the pictures from just before christmas of your mom out in the snow after it had been snow blown - that was a pretty bad ass amount of snow. I cant imagine having to shovel it.

nebb - that sucks! People just suck in general. Yeah, that storm was pretty badass and rare for Long Island these days.

betrothed - I ditto my "people suck". Sorry about that!

Alright, I need to go dry my hair and put on clothes...but pj type clothes. I'm sitting here in my robe, lol.

We got a couple inches of snow here, a few more to come today. I love snow. I never get snow days though- I sell snowblowers at my job :-/ Snow makes it more important to be at work.

I took the day off because I wanted to. Go me.

It's freaking cold outside though, although it's significantly warmer today than it was this weekend.

On the Today show on Saturday, they said that if you put an ice cube outside in Fargo, ND the temperature would need to rise 66 degrees before it would even start melting. I laughed.

Looked like Iowa's getting the cold blast today.

fishy - glad that you're giving yourself another day off! That's INSANE that it wouldn't melt until 66 degrees. I do miss the cold in upstate NY, but that sounds just nuts.

Very rarely do we get snow here, but it is forecast for a 40% chance Thursday and 30% chance Friday. Like Arkansas, we shut down for the tiniest little bit, since nobody here knows how to drive in it. Better make sure I've got everything I need, just in case. I always make doughnuts on snow days.

Oooo! Snow days are always fun! We unfortunately do NOT get paid for our snow days, so I always make it a point to be extremely productive during the day and it does really work!
