Dress Help

Off the bat: on a budget, and also not one to usually wear a dress, so I am kinda flying blind.

I don't want to wear white for my wedding; I'm looking for something pale indigo/periwinkle in colour. But specifically, I am looking for a dress like this, sans huge bow (best pic I've got, sorry):

I need the sleeves - a shrug isn't suited to me and strapless is not an option for me. I want something close to this SO...

Where on earth do I look in Toronto? I've already ravaged online bridesmaid catalogues, cannot find anyone who knocks this off yet... I'm about to start searching. I'm planning on checking out Fashion Crimes and Peach Beserk as launch points, but where else might I find such a dress in a plus size? Any tips, strategies, anything?

I found another bigger picture of the dress (I think thats the right one)
In alot of the screenshots the sleevs on the dress aren't actually attached to the dress they're almost ribbons wrapeped around her arms.......

The dress is the second dress Alice wears in the Alice in wonderland movie by tim burton.

I think your best bet would be Etsy.com and get a custom dress made that way you can get it egactly as you want it and the size you want it in! Try searching custom dress on etsy and then email them the pictures of the dress and see what they can come up with!!

Oh my goddess, I love you so much for finding that photo, JMatth01!! Ahh! I've tried so many times to Google to no avail.

I'm starting to think custom might be my only option, although I'm worried about the price... I'm really trying to keep this whole wedding to a small budget. I've seen some great work on etsy in other areas - I even tried there for a knock-off but only found one of the red dress she wears later in the film.

Just looking through etsy I found this seller who do custom work and have pictures of well made organza dresses

Have you thought about the same style with different details? Davids Bridal has similar shapes in the blue colour (or lots of other colours) that would be easy to get sleeves added..

Just to add on to Jmatth's post - I believe David's Bridal is having a sale and they do carry plus sizes. Also check out places like the Bride's Project where dresses range from $300-$1250 or Windfall Bridal - they carry dresses less than $1000.

My budget is 450 max.... so ahhhh! Stress! You guys are wonderful!

I have no idea of these things - is it hard to add sleeves? Expensive? Would David's do it or...?

You`d need to check out a seamstress for that. I`m not a 100% sure that David`s Bridal has a seamstress, you`ll have to check. I can give you name of a seamstress when it comes time.

$450 max - a custom dress may be more than that, I`m sorry to tell you. Definitely check out David`s Bridal...sleeves aren`t too hard to add, but depends on the dress.

The mister keeps saying to spend more on things than I plan to, so if the dress is pricier... oh well! We'll make it work.
