What did you/are you putting in Bathroom Baskets?

I was just skimming through the post below - so to jump off that, what are you putting in the mens and womens bathroom baskets? Where did you guys but these items cheaply!  (ohh the joys of being budget bride!)

the most expensive tampons I can find!

j/k. I'm not doing them. But yesterday's discussion amused me greatly ;-)

Maybe this isn't the answer you want to hear - but if you are trying to keep to a budget, a bathroom basket is not necessary. Most people are able to be away from home for a few hours and not really need anything.

If you were set on doing them, you might want to include items that it would be imperative to have if the situation arose (bandaids, tampons, safety pins, spray deodorent, possibly even advil) rather than filler (comb, hairspray, breath mints, nail file).  As a guest, I have never used the items in bathroom baskets. Although I understand it is a nice, thoughtful touch, it isn't really necessary.

I didn't do them....they're not necessary. If you're on a budget, I would just skip them.

We have alot of people far from home...alot of travelers. LOL.  I think the only reason I thought of doing it was because - I know when I travel, I'm the idiot who forgets deodorant.

    But obviously expensive tampons...that's a must!!!!!! J/k

    I'm also skipping them.

But I *am* doing the OOT bags ... probably chips, chocolate, water, maybe some soda cans, gum, maybe aspirin.

If you do decide to do them make sure you ask your venue if there are any restrictions, I just asked mine and they said no asprin.

I got a lot of stuff in Harmon's Beauty , a dollar store, and in the trial section of Target.  Basically walked up and down the aisles and decided then.

I got hairspray, spray deodorant, lotion, pins, bobbypins, tampons, pads, bandaids, mints, and a tide-to-go stick.  For men, I got a cheap shoe buffer-sponge thingy, a comb, mints.  I can't remember all of the item though.  Stick with trial sizes b/c full sizes are def. not necessary

I'm leaning toward only doing a bathroom basket for the ladies' room. Here's what's on my list: aspirin, (expensive) tampons, safety pins, sewing kit (if I can find a little/cheap one), Tide pen, band-aids, Tums, hair spray, spray deodorant, and breath mints. I will buy travel size for all items where possible so hopefully the items will only be a couple bucks each. I was going to do a personal "emergency kit" for the day of anyway, so this will serve a duo purpose.

Yup a lot of stuff at the dollar store, some bbb, and other places for trial size.
Bobby pins, Hairspray, Clear nail polish, Spray deodorant, Double sticky tape, Tampons, Lite pads, Comb, Nail file (the little emery boards that are 10 in a pack), Eye drops, Contact lens solution, Moisturizer, Band-Aids, and a few other items I'm blanking on.

And yes, people actually did use it.

Go to the Christmas Tree Shop (if their is one by you)... they have a whole section of items under $3. You can fill up your OOT bags and bathroom baskets. Or Target has the <$2 section also.

I'm going to make them but I'm making small baskets. I'm putting in things that I think people would actually use like breath mints, gum, advil, tums and tampons. I feel like most of the other things people won't use.

I agree to skip them if you are on a budget.  If your out of towners forgot deodorant, I would REALLY hope that they would purchase it upon arrival rather than waiting until they've been in suits, etc. for a few hours.  We didn't put deodorant in our baskets because I really hoped that our guests would take care of their hygiene issues before getting to the wedding.

I took a "what would I be mad if I forgot if I went out dancing at night in the summer or be happy if I found in a bathroom or friend's purse?" approach.  So for the girls I went with the basic Tide to Go (although the venue should be able to take care of spills, like a restaurant would), hair elastics, lip gloss (I found a thing at Sephora that had individual pods), blotting papers, gum, mints, glossing spray for hair (for frizzies), a nail file, Advil and band-aids.  The venue provided tampons and Molton Brown hand lotion, so I wasn't going to argue with that.  Some of those (like glossing spray) were overkill but were little and cute (I'm a sucker for Sephora's travel-sized stuff.  For the boys I went with Advil, mints, gum, Tide to Go, band-aids, and a shoe shiner thing mostly to take up room because there wasn't much in there.  I would hope they came with clean shoes.

We skipped the deodorant (see above), hair spray (because I figured me and the bridesmaids were the only ones with fancy enough hairdos to necessitate hair spray), hair gel (because I couldn't imagine any of the boys I know having hair gel emergencies -- not a Pauly D kind of crowd), clear nail polish (because I figured in 80 degree weather if one of the few people who wear pantyhose ripped them, they could just take them off?).  I've seen bathroom basket lists with absurb numbers of items but really, your guests are adults (or will be accompanied by adults) and are used to leaving the house every day for hours at a time without needing emergency kits in every bathroom they enter.

But really, your venue will be ready to deal with any emergency, so I wouldn't worry about it if you are budget-conscious.  They're really not necessary, and I think they aren't even that nice of an extra touch.
