bue and red

I

these are the tuxes but i think they arent exactly matching to the dress. i still have to go to the tux shop today and maybe do a darker blue

this is the red color, and above is the tuxes
.
well i know its not the right color blue, so what about either red, white, blue or red, black, blue????????????????????????????????
Well if you can help me: i really would appreciate it. I have two bridesmaids in royal blue and my other two are in apple red. I would love ideas on how this will tie into my white dress, and the guys being in black tuxes and blue vests. Thank you.

Oh, SU!! She is looking for advice-not criticism.

Have you thought about having a sash around your waist? Or red & blue pins in your hair? Or on your flowers, ribbons cascading down the front? That would love beautiful!

  • Amy-- I am giving you this advice wholeheartedly.

You can do what you want in your wedding. I think adding splashes of blue would be best, or splashes of red. You don't want to have a brigh contrast of colors because it may look odd to some people.

Also when you post something very similar on another board, put XP in the title. It means Extra Post.

I said incorporate both colors in your flowers on Chit Chat... I think that would be best.

    Edit: You can go and good your colors or go to websites like;

    stylemepretty.com
    or
ruffled ( the blog) for ideas.

You could also scratch the patriotic theme and do a picnic theme and add blue as an accent color!! Just an Idea.....

I love the idea of a red, white, and blue wedding you just have to make sure that it's executed just right or else it could come off a little cheesy. In all honesty, I think the color blue pictured for the guys isn't quite right.  It is a bit too bright and almost bordering on turquoise.  I'd have the guys wear the black tuxes with white vests and ties and then you can pull in the patriotic theme in the flower bouquets and boutonnieres and your other wedding details.  It might just look a bit better overall to have the theme come out in other ways than in the attire.

  • I would tie the red and blue in to your dress through flowers and ribbon around the stems of the bouquet. The royal blue and the red go nicely together without being overwhelmingly like a mashed American flag.

  • oh i agree on the color of the guys vests. ...it was picked out before the dresses came back in. Im going to take one of the dresses and match it better. thanks for the input and pics. I love them.

  • Do both colors in your bouquet.. although I will say that I too am a little concerned about two really bold colors.. we have two bold colors in our wedding yellow, and royal blue, so we are doing royal blue as the main, with yellows/golds as just accents so it's not too loud.. just something to keep in mind.
  • I think that the blue in the mens vest are a little to close to teal to pull off a patriotic look. I think it might look a little off. BUT I think you could pull the colors together nicely if you tie them in in your flowers.
