Snarky Brides

Cat People

I enjoy the song by David Bowie. I squeed when QT chose it to be in Inglorious Basterds.

Putting out fires with gasoliiiiiiiiiiine.

I also have two cats, Peter and Que.

Re: Cat People

  • I've been on a big David Bowie kick lately. I think I listened to "Heroes" about 15 times yesterday.

  • Cat People was an awful movie. That's what I thought of when I saw your post title. Of course I was pretty well buzzed on Abita Purple Haze at the time, but it was really an awful movie. That is all.

It gave me nightmares. Mazes and gremlins terrify me.
  • You can discuss your cats!

Lauren, I have been jamming to Black Tie White Noise a lot lately. It features Al B Sure!, which is always a bonus.

There's just something about Bowie. I'm the same way, I got on Bowie kicks and listen to the same songs over and over. When I'm in a goofy mood, Fashion and Let's Dance are always the first songs I play.

Raynes I planted some catnip on my deck this year, and whenever I walk to that plant my cat is in the window mewing, he knows what it is, he's so cute.

Put on your red shoes and dance the blues :) Space Oddity, though the most common, I think is still my favorite Bowie. Well, that and Under Pressure. Freddie Mercury and David Bowie IN THE SAME SONG?! Does it get better?

  • Exactly, LC. He's just SO damn good. It's virtually impossible to listen to Under Pressure and not belt it out just you're Freddie Mercury. Suffragette City is another big fav of mine.

Zip, I'm very jealous and I believe you. Was that he last time he toured? I would love to see him live.

I lived in NOLA for about a year and I think we drove out to the Abita brewery about 20 times. :D  I miss it. Some places here carry it sparingly, mostly the Purple Haze or Turbodog. I loved the Jackamo though and I've only found one place in KC that carries it.

  • It was amazing. I remember he sang The Man Who Sold The World, and I had no idea that it wasn't originally a Nirvana song. Bad, zip.

I think my all-time, hands-down favorite Bowie song has to be Golden Years. It is just so groovy and makes me want to clap along.

  • My cat woke me up by attacking my leg and making it bleed. Lucky for me, I can always pick her up on the side that she is missing an eye. She didn't even see it coming. And then I banished her from the bedroom.

Is David Bowie really bi-sexual? I am going to guess that he is.

  • Oh, I didn't know that Pridee. NOLA is the shiit, and I'm really hoping FI and I can live there for a couple years before we do the kid thing.  I'm a bad Abita fan. I've never been to the brewery. Random fact: Abita Beer and I have the same birth month. They introduced their first beer in August of 1986. They had their 20th anniversary party on my 20th birthday.

I think so, maybe, but in the way that Mick Jagger is. Like, they slept with so many people that was a given that a man was in there at some point. But he's (David Bowie, not Mick Jagger) married to that super hot former supermodel Iman.

Yeah, I wouldn't want to raise a kid there but it was definitely fun for a bit. I wish I had had more money while I was there because of all the amazing restaurants, but my job there sort of fell through (I was demoted due to cut backs) and I couldn't afford ANYTHING. GO TO THE BREWERY! You have about 20 minutes to drink all the beer you can!! :D

  • If I was Iman, I would make him sing "Magic Dance, magic dance" to me every day.
    image
  • I watched/rewound/watched the hallucination/ball scene on my Labyrinth VHS so many times that it wore out the tape and would get all jumpy at that section. My mom felt sorry for me that she bought me a new one.
    image
  • On the bisexual front, I'm not sure if this is true, but I heard Bowie and Iman met after dating the same man.

Also, in regards to the OP, wasn't Inglorious Basterds fantastic? I loved Brad Pitt's character.
