Changing your name

Hey Ladies,

I'm back!!! Now its time to start the name change process. And I feel clueless. What do I do?  I'm still waiting on the marriage license to come back, so I know I can't do much without it.............

When you get your marriage license back you can change your drivers license, title, registration, and social security card. I believe my car insurance company needed a copy of the marriage license as well.
Also, don't forget to change your name at work.
As I received credit card bills I changed those, but some of them are still in my maiden name and it really doesn't matter. Those I was able to do without having to send in a marriage license.
Don't forget your bank accounts either.

I have only changed my name on credit cards so far.

I am waiting to do my license and all things car related when my license expires in September...we bought a new car the week before the wedding and my friend, an insurance agent, said it would be a nightmare to do it right after the wedding.  It is all fine as long as your license, registration and title are in the same name.

Don't forget insurance...if that is an issue...adding a spouse, etc. should be done within 30days for most insurances.
