Hotel recommendations?

I'm looking at hotels in DT Mpls, both for me and my girls the night before AND for the wedding night. We won't use the SAME hotel room, but we want to be in the same hotel for both nights so I don't have to schelp my crap all over town.

So - Grand Hotel or Hotel Ivy? Anyone stayed at either place?

I like the look and feel of the Grand, but Hotel Ivy seems to have higher-end rooms AND they offer a room that has 2 queen beds (perfect for the night before).

Any ideas would be great! Thanks!

    never stayed at either but grand hotel has a ton of construction right in front of it now so depending on when you're wedding is ivy may be more accessible.

    Without a doubt, Grand Hotel. Probably the best bed I've EVER slept in, not to mention their service is fantastic!

    I like the Residence Inn - sure its not a five star - but their rooms start at 700 square feet so there is so much room and full size fridge - and usually a pretty good price.  they just did a remodel so it is pretty nice

    they are a couple blocks grom the grand - between target and macys.

    otherwise out of the two you mentioned - the grand is a lot nicer.  The Ivy is so far on the edge of town and usually pretty empty
