Tonight is the last night of our trip, and we have reservations at the really nice steakhouse here. I'm getting hungry already thinking about it, and it's 10 hours away.
Probably salad. If I could eat just Ranch, Bacos, and croutons, I would, but to be socially acceptable I add lettuce, carrots, bell peppers and tomatoes.
I may get creative, melt some cheese, and have taco salad.
I think it's going to be a pasta night. H and I have spent the majority of the week eating takeout and I'm pretty much over it by now. But it's Friday (Lent) so I can't eat meat, and that kind of curbs our options.
Well, it's Friday, and I bowl on Fridays, so wherever I want to eat at, I do.
It is usually fast food, Wendy's or BK. I decided to splurge last week and ate at a Chinese buffet that has a grill - was the worst I have ever tasted. Never had so much bland Chinese food in my life! Never again.
It's my friends birthday. We're having pogos (corndogs but different batter - its a quebec thing) and poutine. It's going to be a very unhealthy night. So I best be getting a nice salad for lunch.
If we can venture out to the store, I am thinking about this pasta with tomatoes and white beans recipe (link). I've made it before, it's tasty, especially if I pick up some fresh herbs. I've also been thinking about this baked spinach (link) for a while.
I'm having Johnny's Pizza, gourmet variety (fresh spinach, sundried tomatoes, Kalamata olives, artichoke hearts, and feta). Yummy, and vegetarian for Lent to boot.
It's H's birthday so we're going to a local restaurant. I will get one of the two awesome pasta dishes they have! We'll probably just have one drink with dinner, then open a bottle of wine when we get home!
What differentiates an average host and a great host is anticipating unexpressed needs and wants of their guests. Just because the want/need is not expressed, doesn't mean it wouldn't be appreciated.

We're probably going out tonight, because I don't feel like cooking and he got paid today.
BUT, I totally got a high five last night for the mushrooms I made. Sliced baby bellas cooked in red wine, balsamic vinegar, and a ton of garlic - YUM. It's the first time I've used the balsamic vinegar, and it totally made them.

While I need him to get a job, it's kind of nice having a house-husband.
Last night I made garlic lime fajitas and they were super tasty.
