Glass clincking

Something I want to prevent is people tapping the glasses all through out dinner and making us kiss. I want to come up with a creative idea instead and post a sign on the tables. Any ideas? i know some people make tables sing songs with the word love in it, but I am looking for something else. Also, any cute suggestions/quotes/poems to write up for on the tables? Thanks for the suggestions!

I would skipp it altogether. Pretty sure no matter what people will clink for you to kiss.
  • Ditto PP, it's a wedding. Unless you replace the glasses with styrofoam cups and take away the silverware, somebody is going to clink, whether you like it or not. If you don't want to kiss, then maybe it do it once the first time and then after that ignore it. After a tries with no success, people will give up.

  • As for quotes, here is my favorite:

"You know you're in love when you can't fall asleep because reality is finally better than your dreams.”  ~Dr. Suess~
  • I have been to weddings where the guests need to come up and sing a song with the word love in it before you would kiss, Also I was in a wedding where the guests had to come up and hoola hoop (which was primarily taken over by the kids and the couple didnt have to kiss as a result). I have seen where the guest "couples" were put into a hat and each time the glasses were clinked a couple was drawn to kiss first, there after the Bride and Groom had to re-enact the kiss. With this one we had a couple actually run accross the room where the lady jumped into the mans ams and they smooched. It was so funny to watch the Bride re-enact that one with her big fluffy dress.

Personally, for our wedding we will be asking for a $2 donation to each "clining kiss", which will go to a local charity that is close to our families hearts.

    You're kidding... right?
  • No, Im not Kidding. Doing  dollar dance is pretty big in our area, and rather than do that we are switching it up a little bit. I know A lot of the Brides on this forum go completely over the edge with peoples opinions that differ from their own, so save yourself the trouble of responding if your just going to be a bag about it. This is what WE choose to do at OUR wedding. What you choose to do at yours is your problem, I don't need your opinion on what you think.

[QUOTE]We're creating a "Kissing Menu" to place at each table with different things guests can do to get us to kiss. There are some really cute ideas out there on phrasing.

Well aren't you just a lil peach, sitting up there on your mighty high horse?
  • Wow.  I thought dancing for money was pretty crass, but I'm pretty sure kissing for money is on an entirely different level.  Can they pay more if they want to see you get past first base?
This is a neglected planning bio.
This is a belated married bio, with no reviews yet because I'm lazy.

Sometimes I feel like people think that brides are delicate little flower princesses who get all dressed up and pretty for one special moment of their dreams, when really they're just normal people who just happen to be getting married. Things shouldn't have to be sugar-coated for grown-ass women. -mstar284
