Well, I'm still here

Re: Well, I'm still here

  • He's adorable.
  • Sawsan is fine, she was discharged this week.  They never actually tested to see if it was a seizure, so they just left it at "seizure-like activity,"  and assumed it was a one-off thing due to having a high temp.

Adam is worse.  He had a CT scan today to check for a brain bleed, and an ultrasound of his heart yesterday to check for a hole.  Both tests came back negative, thank goodness, but he is still in the NICU until they can figure out how to make him better.

  • Yeah, I'll probably wait for next month.
  • Aw so cute, KK. :) Not good that he is still in the NICU though.  :( I hope he gets better ASAP!

  • Whoops, yeah May 31st.

I'm glad your SIL is out.  So sorry to hear that Adam is getting worse though.  I hope he knows all of his Knottie Uncles are thinking about him!

  • Poor little Adam. Things are tough for me with what Edmund is going through but I can't imagine what it's like to have your child in the NICU and all those tubes.

  • Just read the description for Bumped, and it doesn't really sound that interesting to me anyway. Though it made me see that Sarah Dessen has a new novel out. She is my teen author guilty pleasure. Now i hafta read that book, though it will probably only take me 2 hours, haha.

  • That made me LOL, Beachy :)  I'm sure he will be fine, but its sad because last Sunday when he was born they thought he would go home this weekend, and now they say it will be at least another week.  And poor SIL speaks very little English, so it's really hard for her to not know everything that's going on with him.

  • My mother is trying to kidnap my son and not letting me do what I want to do. I don't mind help but I also don't like when someone tells me what he needs to wear to bed.

  • Yeah Bumped took me a total of like 3 hours to read.  I actually read it in the middle of the night last night because my mouth was killing me and i couldn't sleep.

Some people really liked the book.  But I know that me, LTB, Ghoti, and now Ggirl have all not been fans of it.
    imageBabyFruit Ticker
  • Ggirl, you probably won't see this, but I think you should get a box of condoms and leave it for your neighbors with a note that says, "I thought you might be running low."

Ciara, I'm sorry you're having a rough time with your mom :-( I don't know all the backstory - has it always been like this?  How is little E doing?
  • I've read other Megan Mccafferty books and didn't like them, so I just figured I wouldn't like that one. I hate that I read really fast because then I get mad that I bought the book unless I really enjoy it. I'm so cheap, haha and also too lazy to go to the library.

  • In my head, Ciara's mom is Barbara on Teen Mom 2.

  • Ciara that stinks.  A friend of mine told me when she had her son her in-laws came and stayed and when she gave him his first bath a day or two out of the hospital he screamed (typical) so her in-laws grabbed him and locked themselves in her guest bedroom with the baby because she was "obviously hurting him".  Same in-laws brought him peanut M&M's as a treat last time they visited even though they have been told repeatedly he has anaphalactic reactions to peanuts.  Good luck!
  • It's not always been like this but since her longterm BF passed away 4 years ago she is just unbearable most of the time. Especially since she moved back in with my grandparents the month after he died. She hates H and hates our relationship and actually told us that we should never have children and that she never wanted to be a grandma.

Now that Edmund has his issue she believes we shouldn't have anymore due to the fact that others could have the same issue.

Edmund is doing great. He is gaining weight like crazy and the pediatrician is really happy with how well he is doing.

MS I'm the same way.  I don't like paying $10 for a book unless i know I'll like it.  This book is on my sh!t list, with 3 strikes against it: cost too much, was way too quick of a read, and it isn't lendable.

The bolded made me LOL. Hopefully there won't be any 5:30 AM sessions tomorrow.

Happy Rapture survival all! (I'm really late coming into the discussion tonight, sorry.)

FI and I had a reception/celebration to go to tonight... B&G got married in February with just immediate family, so they held a fairly intimate (40 people maybe?) reception tonight - very classy with an emphasis on thanking everyone for supporting their marriage.

...and while we waited for G's family to get there, FI decided to across the street for another tattoo. He had no idea the tattoo artist was someone he went to HS with when they started and realized it part-way through the tattoo. Only my FI.

    ooooh Kristin#s? Link?

Yeah, I know that book clubs are probably more efficient with easier reads, but I like a book that takes me a bit, so that I can really savor the story. If that makes sense.

  • Kelly, a spur of the moment tattoo from a random parlor?  I'm guessing he's already got several.  What did he get?

  • My ILs have been completely supportive of everything that is going on.

My family are the ones with issues. I think part of it is that they wanted me to finish college and get a degree and actually do something with my life before settling down. I however was only going to school because it meant I didn't have to pay for anything but my books. I really wasn't doing it for me I was doing it for them. So once I moved out I realized it just wasn't what I wanted at this time. So instead I married H and we started our family.

This is what we want and that is all that matters.

Apparently. Well, to be fair - the groom/husband (whatever you feel appropriate calling him) announced that it would be X amount of time before anything could get started because certain family members weren't arriving, so people could feel free to continue mingling and enjoying drinks. FI has two full sleeves already and has been craving new work, so he ran across the street to see if the guy would be able to do a something small he'd been thinking about to cover a scar. Price was right, time was right, so he did.

We were joking with the couple that he'd always have a reminder of their marriage, and they thought it was hilarious. Bride/wife even grabbed the photographer to take a picture of her/her ring with his new ink
  • Oh Kristin#s, gotta love those assumptions.
