Snarky Brides

Ok, I have another hour

Where did everyone go again? Seriously we need to liven this place up.

I was getting excited seeing some new people to interact with, but once again it's dead here.

Whats for dinner? Any Labor Day plans?

Re: Ok, I have another hour

  • Hi there. I pop in here every now and then but usually it looks too dead or I completely missed a convo so I don't bother.

Anyways, I'm making chicken caesar wraps for dinner tonight. Easy & yummy.

My parents live down the shore so FI and I are headed down there for the weekend. I want to lay on the beach and eat a lot of BBQ food.

    What are you up?

  • Work seems to want to interfere with my play time. I don't appreciate it much.

Some sort of BBQ for dinner, I'm thinking kabobs. No Labor Day plans, H will be gone hunting, so I will be spending time reading and making baby blankets.

    What about you, kd?

  • Hey Rdr, I've seen you around these parts!

Chicken wraps sound great. Not sure what H is cooking tonight, probably salmon.

This weekend we are headed down to H's hometown to visit his mom at the county fair, as well as settle some estate stuff we've only been working on for 7 years!

Should be a fun time at the fair.

Baby blankets huh? For anyone in particular? Do you knit or sew?

  • Brittney: What are you reading? I finished Gone Girl this weekend (I was disappointed) and need a new book.

KD: I love salmon but I have never made it at home. I should try that sometime. The fair sounds fun! FI and I went to a Polish festival this weekend and had a really nice time. I wanted to eat EVERYTHING in sight, though haha

I'm about to leave in 15 minutes...what a long day.

I'm heading to the gym afterwards (I am determined to loose weight so I will be able to take in my dress) and then a shake for supper! Exciting eh?

For the labor day weekend...fi and I are off to the cottage. The 3rd is my Birthday so I'll be spending that relaxing by the lake!

  • I'll play- I have an hour to kill as well!  Making a Pinterest recipe for dinner tonight- Don't Peek Chicken.  Basically a rice/chicken bake.  I hope it's good- the fiance is going to be late getting home from the hospital and I'm sure he will be starving.

Pretty lame Labor Day Plans, finishing up some DIY projects for the wedding so I can check them off my list.  Hard to believe only 95 days until I'm hitched!

They actually have a really healthy meal where my MIL likes to buy everyone lunch. But, H is partial to the funnel cakes. I can take it or leave it.

Just recently my MIL went into business with another woman running a deep fried trailer. As in Oreos, cheesecake and Coca cola.

*I was at class!  Yelling at a sociology professor.  People need to stop generalizing and assumong that all students are 18 year old pieces that have never supported themselves, are unaware of the real world, and are doomed.  I know some pretty darn swell teens.  I also know some older people that those characteristics apply to.

I was getting excited seeing some new people to interact with, but once again it's dead here.
*Then let's party! What do you want to talk about?  Lay it on me?

Whats for dinner? Any Labor Day plans?
*Dinner is a corn chowder with parsnip-corn cakes on the side.  Labor Day = laying low, a round of golf, and a visit to the apple orchard
  • I'm ready Anna!

PSU- I just made a Pinterest crock pot roast yesterday it was delish. Cant go wrong with most those recipes.

  • KD: I've had deep fried Oreos (YUM) but nothing else. The Coca Cola sounds interesting.

  • Sorry I'm so slow to reply, dang work. rdr I just got done reading the Hunger Games series. I didn't want to and resisted as long as I could, but finally watched the movie and had to read the books. I'm currently looking for a new book - any reccs?

kd - I crochet, and make them for a ministry at my church. We give our blankets to hospitals to give to women/babies that don't have a big support system or family base around.

  • I'm making Chorizo for dinner with sweet potato fries. The only deep friend food I've tried (besides the norm) is pickles. Which were delicious!

Anna, I'm so jealous. I would love to go to an apple orchard. Along time ago we had U-picks every where down here and after hurricane Andrew they all disappeared. Going to pick your own fruit was the best thing ever.

<div>It totally is the best ever!  Huge orchard, tractor rides out to the back acres, petting zoo, fresh pressed cider, apple pies, and all the apples I can carry home.</div>
  • I need to live there.

How sweet, we have another lady here who makes baby caps and donates them.

Rdr- I've tried the Oreo, NASTY! I'm just not a deep fried kinda girl. I dont even like doughnuts or pancakes.

  • Whaddup?  (No, I can't pull that off)

I think I'm currently about to fall into a sandwich coma.  Turkey, bacon & gouda on tomato basil bread.  I'm in love with this sandwich.

Labor Day plans are still TBD.  H got a wild hair that we should use some CC points to rent a car, get a hotel and take the dogs and my nieces to San Diego.  Oldest niece doesn't get her work schedule until tomorrow, we've already committed to spending time on Monday with my mom and that's a long drive for just an overnighter IMO.

  • Hey yall! I just got done with one of the most stressful days of my career thus far. I hope that now things will slow down considerably and I can focus on fun things.

Labor day plans are TBD mostly but will probably include a high school football game on Friday.

Dinner tonight I hope pizza but, I have to go to a fundraiser first at 6pm. I might just have to eat there

  • Girlie, you have me drooling. That sandwich sounds delish

Dot I am pretty slow at learning how to crochet. I can't learn a double stitch to save my life. I've tried being taught, youtube tutorials... my brain just doesn't make it work. I have been using a big hook and use three strands at once, and do a single stitch. It makes bigger holes, but it also throws really great patterns with the different yarn/colors. Plus I make a blanket in about an hour and a half (most of that is tangled yarn, gr).

  • I'm here for a little while longer.

Labor Day weekend will be camping and hiking two (maybe three) 14,000 foot peaks - Redcloud and Sunshine, and maybe Handies.  We might also hike to a lake and try fishing.

  • Can I play?

Supper was leftover meatloaf, best recipe I've found so far...

Weekend plans will likely include more construction and lesson planning. FI and I are teachers and we go back to work on Tuesday. I also want to finish the book I'm reading so that when my book club pick shows up, I'll be ready to go.

Had some bad luck today when we were trying to put up the first roof truss; it cracked, crashed down and tore off one of my nails and tore a muscle or something in my hand/thumb. I may be off construction detail for the next couple of days...

Wow! That's so nice of you! I wish I could do that myself, but I am totally clueless when it comes to crochet!

</div><div>I've been pinning so many recipes that this is Pinterest Recipe week for dinner!  So far, so good.  Black Bean Fritters with Cilantro Sauce, Steak and Gorgonzola Pizza with a Balsamic Reduction, Don't Peek Chicken, and today is Turkey Chilli.  I have realized that this means I need a bigger kitchen. <img src="http://cdn.cl9.vanillaforums.com/downloaded/ver1.0/content/scripts/tinymce/plugins/emotions/images/smiley-wink.gif" border="0" alt="Wink" title="Wink" /></div>

  • Hi from a lurker!

I'm a dance teacher and have to get my lesson plans rolling- I'm working on our Christmas dances already haha I also just learned how to knit (I needed a hobby) so I said I was going to make each family within my a set of three dishcloths...so far I've got a good start! Pinterest makes me think I'm a knitting queen however, so I don't know how successful I'd be in some projects.

FI is moving back out and into school (I graduated in May and he's finishing up this  year) so we're getting hiim back in place and I'm going to visit a dear friend I haven't seen since I moved back.

Someone said corn chowder? My favorite! I moved back to Maine and am so ready for a beautiful fall!
