Order invites online or from a person?

Hi Girls,
I need to order my invitations this month and I'm trying to decide if it's better to order them online or from an actual vendor... I'm nervous that if I order online I won't order all the pieces I need, but I'm worried that a vendor will be more expensive.
Thoughts?
Thanks!

    Hi!
I ordered my invitations online and was very pleased with them (actually people started receiving them today and I've gotten nothing but compliments!!). It was a little nerve-wracking making sure I wasn't forgetting anything, and also proof-reading for proper wording and no mistakes, but with the help of my FI, Mom and Mom's English teacher colleagues, everything came out perfect! I used mygatsby.com and got the invitations, the response cards and return envelopes, and a separate enclosure card for the reception. One thing to note though, while one set of envelopes is included, if you want to do inner and outer (like I did) you have to order them separately. I had to call them a couple of times and they were helpful both times. If you do order online, definitely get the black and white email proof... that saved me from a stupid typo on my part. I ordered about 20 more pieces than I needed, better safe than sorry, and it's cheaper to order more at first than to ask them to print more later.

One thing I did not realize when I first started looking is that you can order samples from invitation websites, so we picked out about 8 invitations we liked from multiple sites and ordered samples before we made our final decision. A couple of samples came with discount codes to use when you purchased invitations... an added bonus!

    Good luck with your invitations!

I am ordering mine from a person. It is probably more expensive but I love the sample she sent over and it is so much easier to have her make everything and have them exactly the way I want without all the hassle.

I made my own, but I ordered all of the supplies online and had them do my printing as well. Everything came out perfectly and it was much cheaper than going to a local stationer. I used Cards & Pockets, and they're based out of Massachusetts so it was really quick when they shipped out.

I ordered mine from Wedding Paper Divas -- only $500 for invite, reply card, envelopes and an enclosure with directions/information.

They have a template so you can design yourself and if you want to make minor adjustments, just call them.

It is WAY cheaper than going with a person. And just as nice! Also: wouldn't you rather save $500-1,000?
