I own a bakery cafe and I know for a fact that I'm expected to cater my own wedding, despite the fact that I neither cater, especially since I do not have the staff for it, nor do I plan on catering my own wedding.
Not only do I have to deal with disappointment from guests that I'm not creating my own food, I'm having a difficult time finding a caterer that does French vegetarian food (FI are vegetarian, along with a good majority of our guests), but I already have a menu I would like them to follow and I want their food to meet the standards I uphold for my own food. Not to be a bridezilla, but this is sort of my profession.
Where might I go to find a caterer? What sort of directories or websites would help me easily find a caterer that will fit my needs?

Failing that, try looking through Happy Cow's stuff.

Is there a wedding expo near LA? Metro Boston has one a month in the spring. Most expos have lists of participants identified by specialty.
Some venues recommend specific caterers while others require certain people
Is there an LA monthly magazine? Boston Monthly has an annual wedding edition. There may be a copy at your local library. My hair stylist recommended my caterer. She specializes in wedding updos.
