NWR-camping

I live in Colorado, but am planning to go camping in WY this weekend. Does anyone know of a good area near Cheyenne? We don't want an established campsite with toilets and all that stuff. We are looking to do some primitive camping in the national forest.

    The Snowies outside of Laramie are a popular area.  There are some established campsites, but in Backpacker Magazine this past month, they described a three-day backpacking trip that goes up and back down the other side of Medicine Bow peak.  Quite a few people go camping in Vedauwoo, between Cheyenne and Laramie, and it's more "primitive" like you were saying, but it can be a really busy place in the summer.

    That's really all I know.  We tend to go pretty far out of town when we camp, and my fear of wild animals puts us at established campsites.  Sorry I'm not more help!
