With that budget I would look into Mexico or a cruise. You can fly to Miami, get on a cruise and get to go to a ton of different Caribbean islands for about $1800 or less and then use the rest of the money on onshore excursions or drinks on the cruise.

We are going to St. Lucia for 10 days but we are probably spending about $4500 on our HM, we are taking it like 5 months after our wedding though.

We're taking our honeymoon in September (almost a year later so we could save up), and we're going to Sydney and New Zealand.  I'm in the midst of planning and am sooooo glad we decided to wait so we could have the HM of our dreams.

However, we did go to Washington DC on a minimoon and would highly recommend that for budget shoppers.  We had decided to wait to decide to where to go and see what had good flight deals.  We found flights and hotel for four days,  three nights for $360 each (I think).  The hotel Palamar gave us a free upgrade because I "casually" mentioned that it was our honeymoon at check-in.  Once there, most of the big attractions are free (museums, monuments, walking tour, gov buildings are all free).  We did those things during the day and the splurged on some really great restaurants at night.  Georgetown has some great places to eat.

All in all, I think we spent less than $1000 for the two of us on hotel, flights, food, and attractions.

Well we are doing a Disney HM - I know you could do it for that price but you would need to want a little bit of a different HM - it is not your typical relaxing beach trip.

We're going to Oahu, Hawaii for 8 nights. We're staying at the Halekulani with a suite overlooking Diamond Head.

We're spending around $8500 for everything except food and drink.

I think with your budget you could definitely find a great all-inclusive on Mexico!

    Good luck!

My travel agent really recommended Jamaica to us.  She had all sorts of deals there that were under $2,000.  We really wanted to go to St. Lucia though, so we are going there for about $4,500.

Right now we are looking at going to Lake Geneva on our honeymoon.  We want to go someplace that has a lake we can bring our boat.  There are some really nice resort spa's that we are looking at staying.  All together I think it will be under $2,000 including food, boat gas, hotel, etc.  We wanted to stay somewhat local because the weather at the end of June/ early July is so nice around here.

We went on a mini-moon after the wedding to Rhapsody Resort & Spa on Lake Delton in WI, stayed in the Italian Renaissance Suite for 2 nights, had a couples massage there and enjoyed The Dells, then we trekked down to Milwaukee for a Brewers-Twins game.  It was a great way to unwind from our wedding and enjoy just being married!

We took our "big honeymoon" (milking it for all it's worth!) in January to El Dorado Royale near Cancun.  Our lodging was gifted to us from the ILs (they only paid $240 as timeshare members for an entire week), then the all-inclusive was $1800.  Flights were $300 each because we got a great deal on them, plus incidentals of $300 or so (tips, taxi, horseback riding, day trip to Cozumel).  Something like an all-inclusive in Mexico might be right up your alley and in your budget.

We are going to Maui and spent a little over $3500 to go there for a  week. However, I had an undercover wear party (booked through the wedding fair) and for $28 I got free roundtrip tickets to many places.  We are thinking of taking a trip to Napa sometime in the fall and we just have to pay for the hotel.  SO I don't know when your wedding is but they may still have that special going on if you book a party at the wedding fair or just call them up.  We could kick ourselves for not waiting to book ours because we would have gotten free airfare to Hawaii.  The catch is you have to stay at one of the hotels that they send you info on.  However; they are nice choices and not too expensive!  Good luck!  Mexico, Dominican Republic, and Costa Rica are all good choices for around $2500.

We are going to Jasper and Banff Canada. Not your typical honeymoon, but spending 10 days at a cabin in the mountains fits us perfectly... and so does the price.

We are taking a big roadtrip out to Colorado for two weeks. We plan on playing a lot of it by ear as far as where we stay and enjoying the scenic surroundings. It should be a great adventure!

We are headed to Excellence Punka (the knot would not allow me to say the actual name. lol) Cana in the Dominican Republic after the wedding.  We are paying just slightly over your budget for the trip (including airfare and the all-inclusive resort).

Our second choice was Stonefield Estate in St. Lucia -- should come in under your budget.  You should check it out!

We are going to Vegas and staying at the New York New York, I think it was a little under $1K for 4 days, 3 nights (hotel & airfare only).  We are budgeting another~ $1K  for good seats at cirque du soleil, gambling and food.  FI has never been there and he was in charge of booking the HM.

We have a pretty small budget for the HM, since we ended up paying for most of the wedding ourselves.  We're not really beach people and we want to have kids right away so waiting until we have more saved really isn't an option, so this was a perfect choice for us with the budget we have.

We're going to Costa Rica for 12 days, staying at three different locations around the country.  It's costing us about $3,700 for hotel, round trip air, daily breakfast, some activities and a private driver between all three hotels (driving down in CR is a nightmare).  We're figuring another $2k for spending money for the both of us.  But we're staying at what are considered higher end boutique hotels, there are tons of "cheaper" hotels and B&Bs in Costa Rica that are just as nice.  We're also bringing a lot more spending money than we'll probably need (because I'm super paranoid like that) and planning on doing things like massages, spas, dolphin sightseeing tours, etc.  For a week you could easily do CR for $2,500.

We are going on a cruise from Miami. We are going to Puerto Rico, Bahamas, St. Thomas, and Turks/Ciacos. We are going to head down to Miami a couple days early and spend time there as well. I am not exactly sure how much it costs ( The Fiance planned it)

I think an all-inclusive cruise to the Caribbean would also be a good option in your price range--this is what we are planning.

We're going to spend a week in Paris! I'm SOOO excited!

Airfare was $950 each (ugh) and hotel will be around $150 per night.

We got engaged in Cozumel, Mexico and LOVED it.  We stayed at the Park Royal and spend $900 each for 5 days/four nights.  That included airfare, our room, and all of our food and drink.  I highly recommend it!

We are going to Sandal's in St. Lucia and it is costing about $5,300, but our travel agent had much less expensive deals to Jamacia.
