Thank you- Shower

I had a beautiful bridal shower yesterday, and I am working on my thank you notes today.

My question is when writing my thank you note, do I list everything that was given? For instance, we received a "honeymoon beach bag" filled with small goodies from sunblock, travel sized toiletries, luggage tags, etc. Can I write something like- thank you for the honeymoon beach bag filled with goodies to use on our honeymoon...or should I say thank you and list out the items on the thank you card? TIA

I think you could probably get away with saying thank you for the goody bag, but you may want to highlight one or two items (like the sunscreen for instance- "we're especially thankful for the sunscreen because we know how expensive it can be in tourist-filled areas!").

Yup! Highlighting a couple items in the bag (maybe some bigger items or more expensive ones) would be good. But a general thank you like PP wrote is perfectly fine!

I think you should list all the items in bullet form and explain why you're excited about receiving each one. Like a Powerpoint slide. Only then will the giver know the true depth of your gratitude.

I wouldn't list every single item. When I got a basket of random kitchen stuff, I just wrote, "Thank you so much for the kitchen supplies! You know how much we love to cook, and we can't wait to use it all!"

Go all the way - put together the powerpoint with cool transitions and such. Burn it to disc, and send that with the note.

Too much? :D Just mention a couple of items in the bag specificially - general is fine for the rest.

Thanks everyone. I was just curious what was correct since I have received thank you cards where people have listed out every single little item I put in a basket. It seemed excessive to me, but I figured maybe they were following etiquette.
