[QUOTE]I loved Florence, it's a beautiful city, even if you are just walking around, wandering in and out of different shops and admiring the lovely architecture. I would suggest you eat as much as possible, the food in Florence is amazing.

Agree! The best pasta we had was in Florence.

And if my fiance and I can fly into Dublin...sail to London. Go to Paris...to Lausanne, Switz. to Rome, Florence, Vencice to Innsbruck, Austria to Augsburg, Munich, Rothenburg Ob Der Tauber, Germany to Brussels and Bruges...and back to Ireland in THREE WEEKS. Then you can do what you have planned in 2 weeks. LOL

We had a blast! Of course we were backpacking and just went were we pleased. Everyone is different when it comes to traveling, so you will figure out what will work best for you.

Vanessa&Tony, i love your e-ring and the dress in your lookbook (both are similar to mine, maybe that's why, hehehe).

Jamiemarie, your new itinerary looks awesome, I think you'll have an amazing time!

  • "I think taking the boat tour along the river is a nice and relaxing, and you can jump off whenever you want to check something out. "

Just don't do this when you first get in: you will fall asleep!  It's so relaxing, and when you have jet lag the boat will just rock you right off to sleep.  I've done it twice, and both times I've fallen asleep.  Very embarrassing (but actually really good naps!).

  • Thanks, Sassy :)

Wow, Vanessa, that must have been quite the adventure!  Thanks, that makes me feel like our trip is very doable- I am really excited!  Great advice about the backpacks, my FI actually suggested this too, but I didn't really give it much thought.  But, I am going to have to suck it up and pack less so we can use backpacks.

Swoods- I almost died laughing when I read this, "when you have jet lag the boat will just rock you right off to sleep."  I have AWFUL motion sickness.  I am definitely going to stock up on meds before I go...

I thought I couldn't do it either...but if you pack smart you won't have to sacrifice fashion! I still had many cute outfits, just mixed and matched them well. If it's hot cotton dresses with a jean jacket goes along way.

There were days I didn't feel like showering and threw on cargos and tee for sure though!

@Sassy...LOL I previously had looked at yours on this thread as well. I was like wow what a good looking couple!

  • I think you can definitely have an enjoyable time packing multiple cities into a 2 week trip.  I studied abroad in Paris, so I can attest to the fact that it's possible to spend MONTHS there without seeing everything, but here's my advice: a lot of time when people travel to new, well-known destinations, they feel like they HAVE to see certain sights.  So don't just go to a place just because it's famous and you feel like you have to do it because you're there, focus on the things you WANT to do.  And don't feel guilty if that means missing out on a famous museum or landmark.  If you do thinks that way, I don't think you'll feel like you're cramming too much in.

Also, not to complicate an already difficult decision, but if you have the time and interest, I highly recommend a day trip from Paris to Giverny (home of Monet's garden).  It's really gorgeous. In Paris, you won't want to miss seeing the Arc de Triomphe lit up at night.  I also recommend seeing the Eiffel Tower lit up at night as well . . . Other than that, it really just depends on your interests and what appeals to you most.  Have fun!

  • Monet is my favorite artist- I will definitely not miss it!
  • Paris 5 days (with one of those being a day trip to Bruges, rather than making a whole trip to Belgium)

    Train to Nice 3 days

Train to Cinque Terre 2-3 days

    Train to Florence 2-3 days

Sounds perfect to me! I spent 5 weeks in Europe and managed to do London, Paris, Lucerne, Liechtenstein, Munich, Hopfgarten, Venice, Florence, Pisa, Rome, Pompeii, Corfu, Athens, 3 days around the Greek Islands, Barcelona, Amsterdam and Edinburgh so I think yours is more than achieveable. I did a tour from London - Greek Islands and then travelled to the other cities after it finished but there were THREE couples on their honeymoon for the tour so clearly not everyone wants to relax on their honeymoon, each to their own! I'm sure you will have an amazing time :)

Florence was not my favourite place but I have to agree with PP about the sunset, stunning!
