my wedding is in one month and i have bad red scabs on my feet

I wore these shoes last weekend that cut my feet on the top where the sandle straps were so after that I haven't worn the shoes and been putting neosporn.. it is healing but now I have scabs.. and still using neosporn.. will these scabs go away soon.. my wedding is in 4 weeks and I want my feet to look nice in my wedding shoes and not have these bad red scabs on the top of my feet..   it's about a one inch line on the top of each foot.

  • yikes!!  have you tried soaking your feet in some epsom salts?  it will definitely keep the cuts from getting infected and if they're clean, they'll heal a bit faster.  Depending on how deep the cuts are you might have tiny marks on the tops of your feet in 4 weeks time but try the epsom salt and warm water, about 20 minute soak, pat them dry, apply neosporin and cover with soft cotton socks.

  • I think you should be okay. I have scabs from walking around Manhattan in heels last weekend that are already mostly gone (although they don't sound as bad as yours.) Wear comfy shoes, keep putting on neosporin (and make sure you clean the area gently each time before reapplying), and do not pick at the scabs.

That's gross. Maybe it's karma. I bet epsom salt costs around $7.

You should probably consult with a healthcare professional to get the most accurate answer.
  • They are really not that bad.  I just chose the wrong pair of shoes to wear, and I got new one's that  are more comfy.  And I will try the epson salt with warm water.  I'm sure in 4 weeks they will be fine.  Thanks
  • If you still have marks where the scabs used to be, you can go to your doctor to get a prescription for Hydroquinone. It's strong skin lightener. I've used it for a few old marks before and it works pretty well. It's not magic, but it will lighten it up.

Haha xoxob how do you remember these things?? This is the $7 girl huh? I remember that thread! Karma is a cruel mistress...

Anyways... won't your dress cover your feet anyways? Plus you have a month. I think you'll be fine.

  • I agree, 4 weeks is plenty of time for them to heal.

And why as this on this board?  Yhis seems more like a wedding beauty question, if anything.

  • A few Summers ago I wore flip flops that stripped away a few layers of skin on the top of my feet.  All you can do is apply Neosporin and hope that they go away.  BTW, I have scars now from the rubbing of the flip flops...:(
    Good luck.
  • I just spent about 15 minutes reading the $7 thread....  Damn.  I didn't want to comment on that one, for fear of bringing it back to life!  All I can say is Wow.  Try the $7 epsom salt, it's great!
  • the best thing i've found to heal blisters like that quickly is preparation h. yes it sounds gross, but it works wonders. much better than neosporin. i was a gymnast and it was in every one of our gym bags, we got lots of blisters and rips all the time, and prep. h heals them in a few days with minimal scaring.
