MAKEUP ARTISTS...

My wedding is in July and I am looking at booking a makeup artist sometime this week.  As of right now, I have it narrowed down to 3 makeup artists:

1) Adriana Aude
2) Jodi Carey
3) Sonia Roselli

Does anyone have any experiences with these makeup artists?  I am also concerned with spending too little or too much money on makeup.  I am willing to spend what I need to in order to feel like my makeup was done really well - but I also don't want to feel like I spent too much on it after the wedding is over.  Thoughts? Comments?  Any help would be great!  Thanks!

     I'm not sure about the other ladies, but Sonia Roselli is great!  At first I was hesitant on spending a lot on makeup, but her work is definitely great because she doesn't just cake on makeup.  Rather she brings out the best features of each bride.  There are quite a few knotties who recommend her as well.  Good luck.

    I have booked with Manase at Sonia Roselli for my July wedding.  Sonia herself was not available for my date, and I was a little hesitant going into my trial because I felt like I would be paying a premium for Sonia's name while not actually having her do my makeup. (Not to mention that I need makeup for myself plus 9 bridesmaids...so that premium price really starts to add up). 

    However, my mom and I were absolutely BLOWN AWAY at my trial.  Manase said he was going to make me look "red carpet ready," and I feel like he really did! lol.  I have a picture on my phone of myself after the makeup trial, and it has become one of the standard pictures I show everyone who asks about the wedding (along with a pic of my dress, bridesmaids dresses, shoes, reception venue, etc.) and the makeup picture actually gets a bigger reaction from most people than the picture of me in my wedding dress if you can believe it! 

    Sorry my response was so long, but I would definately recommend looking into having Manase at Sonia Roselli do your wedding makeup if he is available!

    How much are you girls paying for Sonia, if you don't mind me asking? I'm just curious because at one point I was kind of thinking about her, but the prices aren't listed on her website.

    i did my trial with Adriana a couple of weeks back and i was amazed at what she did. she made me look like me still but totally upgraded.  i never felt like she was caking on makeup, which is very refreshing and she listened to what i wanted.  i feel like sometimes when you go to get your make up done they listen but then turn around and do what they want.  she was very easy to talk to and even gave me recommendations on what to buy for touch ups throughout the big day.  she will be worth every penny to me - without a doubt

    Sonia!  She does amazing work :)  I got a lot of compliments on my engagement pictures.  As for cost, I actually booked her almost two years ago...and I know her prices have definitely changed.

    I am going to have a trial next month with Jaycie from Makeup by Jaycie.  Has anyone else ever used or heard of her?  Her prices are great and she is so sweet!!  If the trial goes well, I am going to book her!

    I can't remember exactly, but I think it ends up being $125 or $150 if I remember her correctly.  I booked her back in November at a bridal show.  Anyways, that includes airbrush (if you want) and she travels to you!  Oh, and that also includes my trial!  Oh!  and she travels to you!!  And she said that she will stick around for the ceremony to touch up my makeup just in case I need it :)

    She honestly was just so super sweet that honestly, it was like talking to one of my girlfriends!  I can't even wait to see her again so that we can catch up!!

    I used Sonia 5 years ago and LOVED the makeup.  Think I paid $150 back then and $75 for each BM.  Now I think she charges over $300 for the bride.  Makeup is awesome but not sure any makeup is worth $300.  Good luck.
