Chair Covers are the worth it

I decided to do chair covers.  My catereing bill went up several hundered dollars because of it.  They are brought in by someone else and they have to put them on not my caterer.

Are they worth it.

  • What chairs does your venue have? Ours has Chiavari Ballroom Chairs, which I think are nice by themselves, so we decided to forgo chair covers and use the extra $ for other things.

  • We decided to forgo chair covers because at my reception hall they are $7.50/chair and that was not worth it to us. I looked at pictures of receptions at my venue without chair covers and they look just fine without

  • I agree, depends on your chairs. I actually don't love chair covers all that much, but they are better than ugly chairs I guess. If your chairs are at least halfway decent I'd say skip them.

  • There are two types avaliable to us.  The banquet type chair isn't scene here an then the white fold up chair.  This is where we are getting married.  The white ones we have to basically rent as well at 3 dollars a piece..   We are ready renting them for the cereomony because they pay for them to be set up by someone one.  The banquet type chairs included in the price of the venue

  • I actually hate chair covers but hated the chairs at the venue more.  They're the ugly 70s colored banquet chairs.  Banquet chairs I could handle if they were all one color like black or blue or something similar but these were orange and light blue and some were green so when I stumbled across someone selling their chair covers on the classifieds board I jumped on the train.

  • We are getting chair covers. We are renting from an outside vendor at 2.50 a piece to put them on ourselves. I also got a 50 dollar off coupon from a bridal show for them so I'll get 20 free!!

<div>Honestly I think these chairs are just fine on their own. They all match, are white, and appear to be in good shape. No one is going to notice them anyway. And if these are included in your banquet rental, then I'd go with it and leave it at that. </div><div>
</div><div>A few hundred dollars extra could easily be put towards something else (e.g. cake, favors, flowers, overlays, etc.) Don't waste it on silly chair covers. Just my opinion. </div>

    Everything that Brita said.

No one is going to remember what the chairs looked like, unless they're in absolutely terrible condition.
  • Agreed with Brita and Emliy!

  • I agree. Your banquet chairs look nice on their own. I don't see a need for covers. We were talking with our coordinator about them. We're doing them for the ceremony (I think) but not for the reception. She said with people being up and down so much, they'll end up all messed up and a bunch of them on the floor. Not a look we want. The lights will be dimmed so I don't think anybody will notice anyways.

maybe you can purchase them yourself? i love the way they look with the chair bows which i knew i wanted. Luckily i found venue that gave them for free and said that they have napkins and bows but would be 3 bucks each. bought napkin and bows my self for around 200. http://www.tableclothsfactory.com/Banquet-Chair-Covers-p/wall_chair_banq_wht.htm they are 2 dollars each here. then you can just sell them afterwards.
  • I think the chairs look fine without!!

  • Personally, I don't see a point to chair covers unless the chairs don't match and are hideous. Yours aren't bad at all! If you're looking for some decoration, maybe tie a bow on each chair instead? And buy the ribbon yourself and have someone help you tie them?

One of my good friends that got married a few years ago told me straight out, "don't obsess over the small details of decoration, less is more". I'm kind of going with that in mind myself because it's true, noone is going to notice and either get upset or excited about your chairs or chair covers or lack thereof. Smile save the money, use it for the honeymoon Wink
