Your Patronus...

So tonight, Andrew and I finally saw the last Harry Potter Film. I battled the lump in my throat for half the movie- and I did see Andrew wipe away a few tears from his cheeks.

There are moments when I am so struck by the overwhelming knowledge that I'm destined to be with Andrew- It's almost as if my heart simply cannot hold in all the love I'm feeling. This love spills forth and makes me a better person. It makes me feel like I can make a difference in the universe. It gives me confidence and also makes me feel like the most beautiful woman in the world. However, at the same time- it keeps me grounded and humble. The love I experience with Andrew is balanced and whole. It is happiness in it's rawest and purest form. Joy that will not and cannot be contained.

Tonight- as the credits began to roll- I felt one of those moments. This is only the second time I have felt this. Very often I am so sincerely happy with my life and that I get to share it with Andrew- but today...today this love absolutely stopped me in my tracks. It almost feels like being struck by lightning. The tears of happiness begin to flow, a warmth fills my soul- and the universe demands acknowledgment of this beautiful meaning of life.

The first time I felt this way was "not just any memory, a very happy memory, a very powerful memory… It filled me up... l lost myself in it..."

So on this morning (for most of you)-

I ask of you....

1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?

2. What form would your patornus take?

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?
After the first time Andrew and I made love- I knew. I knew I was destined to be with him. It was like finding a lost key to a lock I had been carrying around. Before I met Andrew, I never believed in twinflames. I didn't believe in soul mates or past lives. But after we made love, I had this overwhelming feeling that I had been missing him....missing him hard. I was so happy to have found him again.

Andrew and I very similar. In fact, I had someone tell me that perhaps we are too similar. ::shrugs::
Twin flames, also called twin souls, are literally the other half of our soul. We each have only one twin, and generally after being split the two go their separate ways, incarnating over and over to gather human experience before coming back together.

I believe Andrew is my twinflame.

    2. What form would your patornus take?
Both Andrew and I adore cats. So undoubtedly- we would both be cats.

    ETA:
P.S. I think this song really represents my relationship with Andrew. Not to mention Alison Krauss is my favorite artist-
    http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3989jHX3sMQ

    "I Will," by Alison Krauss
Who knows how long I've loved you?
You know I love you still

And when at last I find you
Your song will fill the air
Sing it loud so I can hear you
Make it easy to be near you
For (and) the things you do endear you to me
    You know I will

    I will

    Love you forever and forever
Love you with all my heart
    Love you whenever we're together
    Love you when we're apart

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?

When I was 16 my band class went to Flordia for a competition. All of my best friends were in that class so it was a week long trip to Disney with my favorite people. The last night we were at Disney me and my group of friend watched the fireworks together and it had been a perfect week and I was so happy in that moment. Last October I went to Disney with BF and stood in almost the exact same spot and watched the fireworks with him. Both of those moments were incredibly perfect. Thinking about them always makes me happy.

    2. What form would your patornus take?

Hmm...I think an otter. I love the otters at the zoo. When I was little I used to watch them forever when we went to the zoo. They are so happy and carefree. That's what my favorite memories are about - moments when I was having a fantastic, carefree time.

ETA: BF's would be some sort of dog.

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment? - The first time I ever saw Nick. I was in his bed (yep, I'm a shameless hussy like that) after a long bus trip down to Knoxville and after talking and being friends for over 2 years at that point online, I was more than happy to see him face to face. And when he came in the door and smiled and I smiled back...well...I was the happiest I've ever been. When he climbed in bed with me and kissed me gently and we snuggled with no weirdness, no awkwardness, no anything...well, I knew then. (We have a weird relationship story)

    2. What form would your patronus take?

I would say a dog. I'm very loyal and loving and playful.
Nick's would be a ferret, no questions asked. He adores them, and he would trade places with his any day of the week and twice on Sundays.

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?
I'd probably have a hard time performing this spell because I'm totally coming up blank right now. I'm sure if I thought about it for awhile my happy memory would involve my friends and family, though.

    2. What form would your patronus take?
A cat or cat-like creature. Like a lion or something. oooooh or a meerkat! Those things are so cute, for reals.

Hmm, maybe coming home after studying abroad in Germany.  It was a good time (and I do miss it), but it was nice to see family and friends after a long time of being apart. Especially, because I wasn't sure I would make it home by Christmas thanks to a blizzard and tons of delays.

    2. What form would your patronus take?
A flamingo. I love flamingos. Almost as much as cats.

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?
The first time that Sergio and I kissed. I can't even explain that moment but it was if time stopped when our lips touched. After we kissed the most passionate kisses, we stared into each others eyes for I'd say at least an hour. We couldn't look away from each other, our eyes were locked and it was if our souls were finally meeting once more after being apart for so long.

    2. What form would your patornus take?

My patronus would be a swan. Classic Elegance.

Aw, lunar! I love this. What a great story.

"I Will" is actually by The Beatles originally. I loves that song. Haven't heard Alison Krauss version, but I'm sure it's good.

My happiest moment was the first date BF and I had, the first time I saw him again after the wedding where we met. We walked along the lakewalk. At one point, we stopped walking and held each other close. My face was pressed against his chest and I remember the texture of his shirt. I was so utterly filled with happiness and warmth. It felt like nothing bad could ever touch me again. It actually was a little like you're describing, Lunar--I felt pulled to him like something I had been missing.

Could my patronus possibly be a ballerina? I know it's supposed to be an animal, but that seems most fitting for me. A ballerina as the White Swan from Swan Lake, maybe? (Puzzle, I don't mean to steal your animal! I've been a ballet dancer for a long time. :) ) Also, swans mate for life. I always loved E. B. White's book "The Trumpet of the Swan," too.

Happiest moment?  I don;t know there have been so many since my BF camer into my life.  May be the first time we were set up, I just had this feeling of hope and excitement I never felt before.  Also the first time we went on vaction with his family to the Bahamas, it was about 5 months into the relationship.  We bonded so much during that trip.

My moment was when I was reunited with FI after being apart for six months. I flew to Singapore to meet him, and he was waiting for me when I got off the plane. He made a sign for me like the signs you normally see drivers holding for their people, except he colored it all pretty and wrote I love you all over it and whatnot. There was a glass wall separating the luggage claim area from where he was standing, so the whole time I was in the luggage area I was looking up at him in anticipation. When I finally got over to him, I was so overcome with emotion that I couldn't even speak.  We just stood there for a few minutes while he held me. I felt so incredibly happy and safe and in love, and like we were meant to be together forever.

I think my petronas would be a dog. Or maybe a cow?

I think I have more of the vague impressions of happiness rather than overpowering memories of certain instances.  I can think of my BF doing his lopsided grin where the wrinkles pull around his eyes, and his blue eyes twinkle.  I always get gushy happy lovey when I think of that.  So I could probably scare away some dementors with that one. :)

    My patronus would be...

either a cat or a horse...

....or my dog Lorrie.  I've never been a super big fan of dogs (I'm a cat person).  My dog Lorrie is the exception.  She's a wuss, but she'd protect me in a heartbeat.

Lunar - your second paragraph up there brought me to tears. You put into words something I've felt but never truly been able to express. Amazing.

I can't think of a specific time I've had that overwhelmingly in love" feeling, but I feel love from and for BF all the time in the little things he does. When I got back from the gym last night, BF had done all of the dishes and had a bouquet of flowers on the counter for me. It's these little acts of love that I cherish with him.

My patronus would be a horse, hands down. They are strong and powerful, but they are also so kind and gentle. I've always had a connection to horses...so this was a no-brainer for me.

    Happiest moment?

I know I'm supposed to say the proposal, but that was happy in a different way.  Mr. M is the ONLY person who can talk me down when the voice in my head gets out of control.  And when he's around and does it, I know that everything is going to be okay.  It's really hard to explain how it feels.  I get really upset that I'm not going to school in the fall, that I don't have an internship to start, but he knows how to tell me that he's not going to let me not follow my dreams.  That's he's going to do everything in his power to make sure that I can get tenure.  And for me, when he looks at me, that's it.  It's how I know.

    Patronus?

A shark.  Or a sawfish.  Let's be real here, you all already knew that :)

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?

Oh goodness, I've got two- One would be watching my sister walk across the stage at her graduation - Her and I have been through so much together, and we have worked so hard at becoming better sisters, better people, and she is truly a force to be reckoned with. I couldn't be more proud and honored to have her as my sister

The other would be when I had a complete mental collapse a few months ago when I thought I wouldn't be able to go see my brothers and family. I was heartbroken and stressed out, and literally collapsed in bed bawling my eyes out (I rarely cry, so this is always scary for BF). BF couldn't comfort me, I yelled at him to leave me alone, so he did - but he called my BFF and told her to help him/me, that he couldn't do anything, and that I would listen to her. He's right - I did. The fact that most guys would have just ignored me, and left me alone to wallow in my sadness - he did something he knew I'd be upset at first over, but then grateful for.

A phoenix would be my Patronus. I have one on my lower back - and it just really represents my life. Coming back from the ashes when my life goes to hell... It's really just me...

Lunar that is so sweet! All of it!

My happiest moment would have to be March 15, 2009, when I realized I was in love with BF. We had a weird dating start - we talked and became very  close over the course of 3 months before actually dating, and had known each other for a year before that. A mutual friend didn't want us together, and it was complicated, and I wasn't sure if I wanted a relationship anyway, so I told him we could be friends but that was all.

After that three month "courting period", a bunch of us went to a St. Patty's day parade together. At this point, I had already learned a lot about BF, we had become close, and I was very attracted to him. We were meeting my sister at the parade, and she had gotten lost in all the parade traffic and was separated from us. I got nervous because I know my sister gets nervous when she is lost, so BF told me not to worry, scaled an enormous fence to run across a football field, and went off in the direction of my sister.

After my ex and I broke up, I used to pray all the time that the next guy I dated be the one, because I could not go through that pain anymore. God answered by planting a vision of my soulmate in my head - his personality, his sense of humor, even some of what he looked like.

Standing there watching BF run off to find my sister so that I would not be nervous, I knew. I knew at that moment that he was the guy God had picked out for me. We started dating the next day. ETA: I totally had one of those love surges you were talking about, Lunar!

Talking about it later on, he told me that the moment he relaized he was in love with me was the night before I realized. Smile

My Patronus...hmmm. Well, my favorite animal is the manatee. They are so peaceful and gentle, and they were first discovered when sailors thought they were mermaids (which I was completely obsessed with when I was younger). So, even though it is kind of awkward, I think a manatee would be my Patronus.
BF's would be a bull. He is a Taurus, and he believes his personality is exactly like his Sign. He's also physically big and strong, so it fits. He even has a tattoo of a bull on his left shoulder.

Lunar I love your story! I've had a few of those moments with my current BF.

The first one I remember is a whole day, not just a moment. I did my junior voice recital last fall and it was seriously one of the best days of my life. I had worked SO hard for months and to finally be up there, in my beautiful gown, singing these songs was amazing. At the end my dad came onstage, gave me a dozen red roses and said "you were amazing." All the people I cared about were there supporting me.  My current BF (who I had *finally* realized I'd fallen for 6 days before) gave me a dozen yellow roses, and I went out to dinner with my friends, (now) BF, parents and the people who had traveled 3 1/2 hours to see me. I remember looking around the table and feeling SO incredibly blessed and happy.

Another, simpler, time was recently. My BF took me to this place called Green Lake in Syracuse, NY as a surprise on our way to Turning Stone Casino. The place was very special to his family - his mom had gone there when she was single, engaged, married and a mom. It's such a beautiful spot (the lake is literally aqua green) and it meant so much to me that he had shared this special spot with me.

I got really jaded during/after my relationship with my XBF. I never thought I'd find someone at this point in my life and just feel like he was the one, this is it. I thought, I'm too young and maybe I just don't fall in love like that, maybe I don't believe in soul mates like I thought I did. It took being in this relationship to realize I just needed to find the right person :)

Oh, and I'm not sure what I'd be...maybe a dolphin? I think my Patronus definitely changed once I started to beat my depression. I'm so much more happy, carefree and able to truly enjoy my life than I was 2 years ago.
And if the stormy weather came...I'd just kiss you in the rain... Daisypath Anniversary tickers image

Whenever I wake up and he's been awake and I catch him watching me, and then when I finally wake up he pulls me into the biggest bear hug ever
. :) We don't spend nights together very often, so it's something we cherish. We stay up all night talking and laughing, and waking up to him makes my heart feel so warm.

I'm sure there are others (and not romance-related) that I can't think about now, but here are a few.

When FI and I first kissed and then stayed up all night talking. The first time he took me to the pier (where he ended up proposing) and we sat out on the floating dock watching the lake and the stars. I think that was the moment I realized I was in love with him. And the proposal, of course!

    2. What form would your patornus take?
    Probably a golden retriever.

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?
I get them when I stand on the tops of mountains.  I feel at the top of God's creation but it is so overwhelming, it makes me feel so small yet so important all at once. I can't quite describe it.

Other times I get an overwhelming feeling of love for BF. It is always at random times, I will just be looking at him and I feel like crying in happiness.  They are good moments.

    2. What form would your patornus take?

A horse.  No question. :)  In that way Ginny and I are alike.

    1. What is your very happy, powerful, filling, and deep moment?

My wedding day or our anniversary dance from the wedding we were at on our first anniversary. Our friends who got married had the DJ dedicate "Stand By Me" to us at their wedding. (It was our first dance song at our wedding). It brought back all the happiness of that day, plus a whole year of being happily married. We looked at each other and said at the same time "Best year of my life."

    2. What form would your patornus take?

I think my patronus would be a coyote. Playful but insightful. :)
