Re: It's monday

  • Morning.

Had cereal for breakfast, and I'm starving. Trying to organize the next couple of weeks (midterms) and hold auditions for the two upcoming productions.

My weight isn't budging and I'm busting my a$$. So frustrated with it all.

It already feels like a long week!

  • Morning, ladies!

So Edie, what happens for you now? I think you explained the other day, but I forgot!

Sorry you're still not feeling well, brittany. I've heard whatever is going around here is brutal.

I'm getting back on the workout train today- I went overboard last week and was SO sore, so here I am again. Uhg.
  • Morning,

I am not thrilled about the foot of snow I had to go through this morning but oh well.
Nothing super exciting happened this weekend, just worked on my guestlist some more.

Still no FI. we heard now it will be this weekend. So I have my fingers crossed!

  • Aw, sorry Apple

Edie- haven't you been saying you're going to show him stuff for like a week :) Tell him to hurry it up haha

Jenny- I feel you on the weight thing, I've noticed taking a break and relaxing a bit usually helps :)

I have an awful headache :( bleh
    image
  • Apple, maybe our rain will head your way to get rid of the snow, but now it's all slushy and gross.

Jenny, have you ever tried spinning? I used to spin like 3-4 days a week when it was included at my gym and I'm going to start going again. It was a great way to break up my routine.
  • Morning!  My weekend was pretty uneventful.  Attempted to change my name on my bank account and that didn't work out.  Attempted to find a place to get a flu shot and that didn't work out.  I did bake for the first time in quite a while - I made key lime cupcakes and they were actually pretty delicious.  I miss baking - not sure why I haven't done it so long.  The party we went to on Saturday night was okay, but I have to say that parties just aren't as fun when you're pregnant.  That's about it.

I was exhausted all day yesterday, but when it came time for bed, I couldn't fall asleep.  Go figure.  So I'm kind of dragging today.  H leaves for a business trip tomorrow and he'll be gone until Friday.  He and I both always get sick when we fly.  I just hope he doesn't bring home the flu this time!

  • Morning ladies!

I'm also dragging today. I was fairly tired all of yesterday, and like Lls, when it was time for me to sleep, I couldn't. It was frustrating. I guess I'll be drinking a lot of coffee today. I also feel like I'm fighting off a cold. I hope it doesn't turn into anything worse.

I have to start an exercise routine. In 6 months, I've went from the lightest I've been in years, to the heaviest I've been in years (almost a 15 pound difference). I've been trying to start the low carb diet again, but on the weekends all my hard work from the week gets destroyed.

Apple, sorry about all that snow. Thats sounds awful.

Lls, those cupcakes sound delicious! I've made lemon meringue cupcakes before, which I assume would be similar, and they were to die for. I hope yours were too!

  • lol maybe both.

I am trying to work on my guestlist. My mom wants to invite everyone and I do not. so I am just trying to get it all together.
I made the mistake of using the guestlist manager on here and I shouldn't have. so I am just trying to fix everything.

    anyways What is new?

  • Happy 6 months, Swag!

No gym = no spinning. There are a couple of bikes here in the scary weight room (equipment is in bad shape), but I haven't used them. I have an elliptical at home and am back at weight circuits again. Even doing Insanity last month (or part of it) didn't change things. I feel like I'm grasping at straws, but am refusing to accept that I'm supposed to be this size forever.

    Blah!

  • We made our guest list fairly easily. Thankfully both sets of parents didn't go overboard with who they wanted to invite. Somehow we managed to split up the guest list into thirds. 2 thirds was family/parent's friends, and the other third was our friends. This still made our list at a scary 170ish, but we ended up with about 130 who came to the wedding.

My "something important" seemed to go well on Friday. I'm still not divulging what it is, so that I don't jinx myself. I'm hoping that I find out soon what the outcome will be.

In other news, H and I's birthdays are this weekend! We're one day and one year apart from each other. Since we've started dating we celebrated our birthdays jointly and it's been so fun. We're having a party this weekend and are looking forward to it!

I got an idea a while ago but I have tried cutting it down.
My mom on the other hand wants everyone and their dog to go.

Both of our families are pretty big so its hard to cut a lot but we are now at 220 and  my mom wants more.
I don't like being in front of huge groups of people so I really don't like this but I guess if they are paying they pick so I can't complain too much. just no puking from that many people staring at me. lol

the guest list has been the only bad part so far. it has just been insane when I see on paper how large our families really are. even pretty immediate family is almost the 200.

<div>Families, especially when you include everyone gets big fast. My dad is one of seven. Fortunately somehow that side of the family has stayed smaller and I don't have many cousins. But if my aunts and uncles chose different lifestyles, we could easily have a very massive family. </div><div>
</div><div>I thought that being in front of a large amount of people was going to spike my anxiety. Walking into my bridal shower and having everyone staring made me quite anxious for a bit. </div><div>
</div><div>But somehow, day of the wedding, I was fine. Everyone else faded away and my focus was on H. And then you also remember that everyone there is family/friends and that they love the two of you. Most of the ceremony it just seemed like it was me, H, and our priest. Our priest was my aunt, so that made it even more special. </div><div>
    </div><div>I'm sure that you'll do fine :) </div>

  • Morning!! I'm back alive - and I feel so much better. Amazing what a few days of sleeping all day and antibiotics will do.

Makes me so mad, it seems like every time I get into a great workout/eating healthy routine I end up sick. That's even with taking boatloads of vitamins on the regular.

I was off work on Thursday and Friday because of being sick. Saturday I forced myself to get up and get out of the house to go to the annual really big wedding show in Seattle. I think I've had enough cake samples for a lifetime and by the end of the show we all needed a real meal that had substance and not just sugar. My DD definitely was all about the cake/candy at the show. She was excited to go, and at only 7, she was so into the fashion show, it was cute.

Tonight I'm back to the gym, and today I'm starting a "write everything down that I put in my mouth" program to keep my eating on point to lose some lbs before all of my wedding shindigs that are in the future.

    Happy 6 months, Swag!

Our guest list was the hardest thing we had to do.  I have a pretty large family (my mom is one of 9 and my dad is one of 6 and I have about a gazillion cousins).  H's family is smaller, but it was still a decent amount of people.  On top of that, H and I have a lot of friends and mutual co-workers (we don't work together anymore, but we met at work).  Our original guest list came to about 250+.  We could only afford 180.  We ended up cutting almost all co-workers as well as a few friends.  Luckily, our parents didn't go too crazy with their additions, but we did end up inviting 205 people.  Our final count was around 175.

I was absolutely terrified to walk down the aisle and say our vows - I hate being the center of attention and public speaking is not my thing.  It really wasn't that bad.  The walk down the aisle was a little bit intimidating, but it wasn't as bad as I expected it to be.  Our dog was in the wedding and he walked down the aisle with my sister just before I walked down, so I think that took some attention off me, which I was grateful for.  Once we got to the vows, H made me laugh the entire time and I kind of forgot about the room full of people.  You will be fine, Apple!  :)

ETA: Also, a small glass of wine before the ceremony calmed my nerves a bit, too!

  • Morning. I just got back from working out. We are trying to keep my final count to 100. This is because that is the max number if chairs for the ceremony. We can go over a bit since the WP will be standard but that is our cut off.

  • Thanks, Buzz.

Luckily our headcount isn't too big of an issue. We both have small families, and since we don't live in the area we grew up, our circles of friends isn't too big. Our wedding will have 50 guests including the WP.

<div>It looks like basically the same hair cut, except that it's styled differently. I think both looks are pretty. </div><div>
</div><div>ETA: The first style looks more natural, as in not blown out and curled in as much. The second style has a deeper side part and it seems evident that they spent more time with a curling iron or blow dryer. I guess part of what you chose would depend on how much styling you want to do in the morning before going out. I think if you show the second photo to your hair dresser, she'll make it look like that. But if you're lower maintenance in the morning like I am, your hair would look more similar to the first photo, especially if you don't hold a curl very easily. </div>
