So for the last 3 weeks I have been doing Jillian Michaels 30 day shred in my living room(total kickbutt workout). I'm on level 2 right now and with all the planks and holding myself up my feet are killing me so its hard to do the actual work out. There is a sharp shooting pain going up my foot.
I kicked off my shoes and just did it in socks and it felt a lot better. I tried putting those shoe cushions in but it didnt work. How bad is it to just work out in socks? I'm working out on a carpet but when it comes to the cardio part I go over to a solid floor.
The shoes are a couple years old but have only really been worn maybe 100 times? Any advice?

Re: socks - no shoes?
***** This is defintly not medical advice*****
With that said, there are some people that really need shoes, and if you experience foot or leg pain that seems abnormal during or after a workout, be careful! Go to a specialty shoe store that can fit you properly with workout shoes.
ETA: I should have said that if you experience pain, go see a doctor. THEN go to a shoes store.
As long as you don't have any huge foot issues then I'd think you'd be fine. But, if you have recurring foot pain no matter what you do, I'd go see your doctor or a sports medicine doctor. You may need specific inserts in those sneakers.
