"I'm a planner" is really starting to get on my freaking nerves (especially since I just read it in a different thread).

We've been together longer than my friend and her FI, so I don't understand why my BF hasn't asked me yet. I mean, I have the dress picked out, and the BM dresses, and the date. I mean, WHAT IS HE WAITING FOR???

He mentioned ring shopping...so this must mean we're getting engaged soon...so I can start planning now because I don't want a long engagement.

I'm thinking of telling him to propose by June 1st or I'm breaking up with him. Good idea?

Can you ladies tell I'm procrastinating on doing homework?

One I actually just heard recently, one of my friends actually said it,

    "We do everything ass backwards!"

As if that excuses the BSCness of her picking her centerpieces, looking at dresses, deciding on venues...before her BF even proposed. When she said that, I just had to slowly back away...

My dad said he'd pay for the whole wedding. So therefor who cares if neither BF or I have a job, we're getting MARRIED!!!

I know BF has not proposed yet but I know he will. Plus is I don't book my venue now there is no way to ensure that it will still be available on the date I chose.

Omigosh, yes. The boyfriend and I actually ARE saving ourselves for marriage, but we're for sure not gonna use that as an excuse to get married. haha

I don't have a problem with the people who think they can plan their wedding while still in college (I'm planning mine while still in grad school)...I have a problem with the people that think that's going to be easy. They're just setting themselves up for failure. At least I figured out how friggin difficult it was going to be beforehand and prepped myself for that.

Grad school's a whole 'nother animal, but I definitely would have had more time to plan a wedding when I was in college compared to working full time.  I wasn't remotely ready to get married, and even still, had no prospects for a groom, but simply from a time perspective - it would have been easier for me.

Now, if you're in school AND working AND trying to plan a wedding, that makes life a lot more difficult!  But at least in college, I would have been able to study in the evenings and do some of my planning during times when my vendors would have been in their offices, whereas now I'll probably be doing everything via email at night after work.
