I have my 18 year old brother as my Bridesman and am having the hardest time shopping for him. I got my bridesmaids necklaces to wear at the wedding, but he is only 18 and most of the traditional "groomsman" gifts are completely inappropriate.
Help!

Repeat this to your self: My Wedding Party is made of my family and friends and I should treat them as such.

What kinds of things does your brother like? What would he use? What would he buy himself if he had money to burn? Sports or concert tickets, video games, camping equipment, art supplies? Does he need a wristwatch or a new wallet? Would he like some nice sunglasses? Is there a new or expensive restaurant that he wants to try (gift card)? A new lens for his camera? Maybe a gas card or a hotel voucher for that road trip he's got this summer? A sweatshirt from the college he'll be attending?
Also, necklace to wear in your wedding really aren't "gifts" for your wedding party. It's not a thoughtful gift to say, "Here, you have to wear these necklaces to my wedding, but then you get to keep them for yourselves afterward!" Something to be used for YOUR wedding isn't a gift. If that is the only gift you have planned for your BMs, I would highly encourage you to get them each something else - even something small. My BM's birthday was this week and I got her a librarian action figure - not expensive or fancy by any means - and she was delighted with it (she's an MLS student).
Take the words "wedding party" out of the equation. Now go shopping. Think about each person as an individual, rather than as part of your wedding. What would you get them now?
