First world problems (ie stupid vents)

Re: First world problems (ie stupid vents)

• Mari, who says stuff like that?  Maybe if you were doing it all the time, but just once?  Some people need to learn to keep their mouths shut.

On the jeans thing, it's funny that men have the same problem, too.  Matt was looking for months for some new jeans.  He is tall but has a long torso, so a shorter inseam.  And he didn't want any distressed jeans.  Just regular ol' levis.  He finally found some, and after he washed them over the weekend, they shrank like 1/2".  They're not high-waters, but they could definitely be longer.  He's so frustrated.  I felt bad for pointing it out. :(
• J Crew has the best jeans. End of story.

And I agree with Emily, I think button downs are difficult for everyone. I tend to just avoid them because I know I'm too lazy to have anything tailored.

I know! I couldn't believe it, I just ignored her but I wanted to tell her to mind her own business in a big way.

• Mari, god forbid you care about someone you love.

I love J crew but I've never got pants there.  I'm wondering if I should try, when I need a new pair.

</div><div>Yes, you should. I love the Matchstick for everday wear, they are the perfect plain jean that matches anything. I also really like the High Waisted Skinny, but they are a little more trendy/dressy. Also, go to an outlet if there is one by you, jeans are much cheaper there.

</div>
• I used to wear J Crew pants all the time. They were the only ones that were long enough and made me look like I might have an ass.

The button down shirt sizing makes me sad.
• Anna, I have a pair of j.crew matchsticks and really like them.  First jeans in a while that fit my larger tummy and my smaller legs (apart from jeggings, don't judge!)

FI has jean problems too - he has bigger thighs and short legs, so he treads on the back of jeans and wears a hole in the crotch pretty quickly.  He buys them a size or two up in his waist so they fit his thighs.

• I have a silly first world problem:

I bought this set of clips for closing food bags.  It came with this one neat little piece that was good for closing our bread package.  Matt went to put it on the bread today and he couldn't find it.  After searching around the kitchen and even in the garbage, we're pretty sure that he threw it out with the old bread last week.  It was a bright blue color that blended in with the Wonderbread packaging.  ARGH!!  It was such a great little gadget.  And I hate throwing things away.

• In response to the dishwasher problem, I think it's hilarious that I bought one of those dishwasher signs from etsy (CLICKY), and I am the one that always forgets to use it!

I'm getting more in the habit of checking the sign before I ask FI though, because it REALLY irritates him when he takes the time to flip the label and I resort to asking him before looking.

I hate how they don't make womens button down shirts longer. I have to wear button downs for work and none of them are long enough to be tucked in.

ETA: I get in trouble for being out of uniform if it isn't tucked in.
Ricks I would get a nice salad, and a burger on the side, of course. MUNI wait, so being size zero doesn't automatically make one emaciated? Does that mean that people who are size 8 can be thin? Mind, blown. Except not really because women's sizes aren't cut and dry like mens sizes. They should really think about doing that.
Posted by Megbo2012
H was telling me that some mens brands are starting to do the same thing, though, where they make a size sound smaller so people don't feel fat; so like a 32 pant would fit a 34 waist.  just a PIA if you ask me
• Ciara, E is precious!

Kate, well that's depressing haha
• I'm guilty of repinning blindly.

Also if one more person tells me that I was freezing Edmund when I took his pictures in the snow I'm going to smack someone. I wanted him to feel the snow so that's why the no mittens and he had several layers under his sleeper. We weren't out there for very long and I took him out of the sleeper when we got inside.

• Oh, good we're on to how short shirts are now?

I don't need to show off my muffin top.  Especially not in the office!  I have a very long torso and i'd like my shirts to cover me, thanks!

(Also Meg, i missed earlier but by "fat skinny girl" i meant high body fat percentage.  Some people can be a large size but low body fat and people like me are a small size, but high body fat percentage because I need to get my butt to the gym and develop some muscle.)
• Oh, i hate it when people repin blindly too.  Especially when the comment is something like "This would look great in Jimmy's room" and i KNOW they don't have a kid or husband or anyone named Jimmy.

I also hate when people pin things "."  pin with a useful description so I can search, thanks!
• I'm guilty of all of that. I actually hate having to put a description on things that I pin. What if I just like something and don't have anything to say about it.
In Response to Re: First world problems (ie stupid vents) : Ciara, in all sincerity, if you put a picture out there, of anything, people will comment on it.  That photo looks like you put Edmund in the cold, wet snow in his pajamas.  We don't know how many layers he has on.  We don't know how long he was out there.  It doesn't look good.  I'm being honest because I don't want you to think people are just trying to tear you down for no reason.

I understand that. It's the 15 people at work that I was telling about taking him outside and that told me I was freezing him not the people on the internet.

• I don't mind minimal pins like "hair" because at least then it'll come up when i'm searching for wedding hair styles.  But i like to search through pinterest to find things and I wanna see the pretty hair you pinned!
• Edmund looks so cold!

Well.. do you think that is 15 people plus all the internet people told you this, don't you think you might just admit it was not the best idea? I know you cant take it back, and I am sure it didn't hurt him, but snow is really freaking cold and wet, and I sure as hell wouldn't like to be sitting my ass in it with no shoes or gloves.
Snow really isn't that cold.  It is the air temp or the wind chill that gets to you.  And usually it takes awhile.
Posted by crfb87
Say waaa?

Snow forms when the atmospheric temperature is at or below freezing (0 degrees Celsius or 32 degrees Fahrenheit) and there is a minimum amount of moisture in the air. If the ground temperature is at or below freezing, of course the snow will reach the ground.

=cold as fuuck.

• He had 4 layers on under his sleeper, 2 pairs of socks and the fleece hat. We were out there for less than 10 minutes. He only sat in it for a minute and then we brought him inside and changed him. He was fine.

• So is ice not cold in your glass? Pretty sure snow is ice.
• He looks rather cold to me. And I always find snow to be rather cold.

I love saying the word cold tonight for some reason.

• Oh, well by all means, if 15 people you know PERSONALLY and a whole hunk of internet strangers think you're an idiot for 1) doing it and 2) putting out there, by all means, keep on keeping on!
