Rehearsal Dinner Invitations - Yay or Nay

Most, if not all, of the people invited are in the wedding party. I've toyed with the idea of putting an extra reply card in their wedding invitation so they can send it back with their RSVP card. However I'm not sure that this is necessary and an email would suffice. What do you think??

I like the idea of including them in with the invitations.

My mother-in-law sent out RD invites just under two weeks before the day, and from my viewpoint, it didn't go well. The only RSVP option was to call or email her, and a lot of my relatives weren't used to that. And my bridal party just plain didn't respond. And it was too close to the wedding -- people saw another people of wedding-related info, and just kind of put it aside without reading it to figure out what it was.

I second this question!

I asked my FMIL if she wanted to do them and said no. Its just people from the WP. The OOT guest aren't invited because then we'd basically be throwing a second reception!

Since we invited the OOT, we did them. They were cute. I just did some cheap ones off VP.

I did it. I ordered free invitations from VP and sent them out a week after the wedding invitations.

I did them, even though we are just inviting Wedding Party/Immediate Family. I figured this is the easiest way to remind our parents of it.

I got 40 from VP.

Vistaprint has been a lifesaver for me with all the invitations. I think we're going to go wtih the 'include them in the invitation' idea because his parents are already strapped for cash with the rehearsal dinner. Because we don't know exactly where the dinner will take place I will probably just print out some small business cards that say they're invited to dinner (with more details to follow) and ask how many will be coming. Then they can send those back with their wedding RSVP.

We aren't using them. Unless FMIL is planning them and hasn't told me. It's all WP and OOT guests which are from FI's side of the family. We are just doing word of mouth. But our RD is VERY laid back. Ours is at Rudy's

I did them and included them with the invitations. Their RSVP to the wedding served as the RSVP to the RD. J and I are paying for our own with little help from the FIL's, so I felt it was appropriate. We also had quite a large RD guest list since we decided to invite all OOT family--it helped us save on stamps and helped them plan their flight arrivals accordingly.

My MIL made them herself. The guests had three options (one too many in my opinion).

I know it would cost a lot of you some extra money for postage, but I would suggest sending them out separately from the wedding invitation. If you put too much in your invite it could drive the price up as it is and you run the risk of it being thrown aside and ignored.

I would highlight and copy, but I do not know how to do this!! So my plan is what Stephie said, sending out separate invites soon after the invites drop. We're inviting WP and all OOT guests as well.
