Over here, there is a huge dispute going on because a teacher told all her students that Santa wasn't real.

Some of the people are actually arguing that it is bad to have your kids believe in Santa... how?!

i'm a well adjusted human and i believed in santa for YEARS. they're CHILDREN. let them be children!

do these people also not tach their children about the tooth fairy? kid loses a tooth and mom goes "oh that's nice honey, now clean up your face before i take you in public."

i want to be a part of the santa religion. we bow down to santa and eat christmas cookies during the worship service.

disappointment and a failure? i found out all by myself at some point. IT'S FINE. if some kid is SUPER disappointed about learning that santa isn't real, then a)they were told too early or b)their parents took it too far.
santa brought me a couple gifts, not much. most things were from my parents. we also got little things in our stockings every day for a week leading up to christmas from "the elves"... little things like candy or something from the dollar tree.

That Kmart thing is really inspirational!

I work for a competing company though - I wish our company still had layaway, I would go do this for some people in need in a heart beat!

As for weekend plans, I'm going out to dinner with FI tonight and then to an art show, aptly called 100 Grand (100 artists, selling 100 paintings for $100 each!). Tomorrow is ugly sweater party and then going to see a friend's band play at a dive bar.

I think it should be up to the parents whether or not they want their kid to believe in Santa. My parents always told me they were Santa, but my Godmother insisted that her gifts to me were from Santa lol.

happy Friday! !! So glad the weekend is here (I really wondered if it was ever going to come! - I was pretty sure that Monday repeated itself at least 12 times!)

Looking forward to the weekend - hopefully sleeping in a bit tomorrow. MUST get wedding stuff done... and if the weather plays nice, we will be going to the bronco's game on Sunday...

Oh yes, I've seen it numerous times in the months I've been active on TK. Usually refreshing the screen will get rid of it. But I knew PH used stolen photo for her avatar when refreshing 5+ times didn't change it.

My fiance was actually raised that Santa wasn't real, that it was something adults told children and that it was a lie. (Of course, they knew lies were bad.) But that they shouldn't tell anyone. I told him we will not raise our children that way and since we're going out to see my family for Xmas this year, it's very important to me that he sees my niece on Christmas morning so he has a better understanding of a child who believes in Santa and the magic of Christmas.

I don't actually celebrate Xmas, however I still fill stocking because of the spirit of Christmas and that magic behind it. On Christmas we do stockings, monkey bread and then bake all day and go give cookies to our local fire and police departments. I like to think that the spirit of Santa lives through that.
