My father is deceased, and I really don't want a brother or other male (or female) relative/friend to walk down the aisle with me. I also don't like the idea of the groom and bride walking together. Can I walk alone, or is this really not appropriate? (It's not a church wedding.)

Me too. I voted "yes" by accident also. I think it is perfectly fine to walk by yourself.
