Planet Hollywood Chapel

Hi ladies!!! I just got the a-ok from my fiance and my fam to go for the Vegas wedding I've always wanted!

Does anyone know any additional information about the chapel or weddings at Planet Hollywood? Its our current frontrunner and a choice that somewhat surprised me. I've never been there myself but their packages go well with what were looking for and I really like the look of their chapel and panorama suite (perfect for our small reception!)

one of the reasons I crossed PH Off my list was because you have to walk thru the casino floor to get to the chapel unless you're coming from a hotel room (see post below). This may not bother most brides but I wanted a chapel with an enterance where you didn't have to go through or past the casinos...we have some older/younger guests coming.

"The chapel is located on the Mezz level of the hotel and all of the guest floors come directly here by elevator so you would not have to walk through the casino in your dress. "

well yeah if you're staying at PH. I meant if you're coming off the strip....which most of our guests wouldn't stay at PH.

I toured the PH chapel and thought it was very pretty. They had just installed some Chihuly glass art as a focal point and had many options for things like candle lit ceremonies and such. It ended up being to small for us, but it would have been a top contender.

We didn't have any problem looking at suites when we were there, but I think it changed right after we were there. If you are having your ceremony there, maybe it's slighty more likely you'll be able to reserve one of the big suites...?

I'm not sure if walking through the casino would bother my guests.. definately something to think about that I hadnt considered before. Especially since PH's whole atmosphere is very young and somewhat over the top.

When you say you had difficulty with the suites, what kind of problems did you have?? We were entertaining the idea of an insuite reception in their panorama suite.

Hearing reviews about PH's chapel being pretty is really comforting.. I always envisioned Ceasers or Mandalay Bay (still my obsession.. just not my price!) so even though PH seems to be fitting the bill, i'm still sort of apprehensive

That is excatly what made me nervous. I wouldn't mind, I know our friends and maybe even parents wouldn't at all, but our grandparents and niece/nephew, it may not be appropriate. I know they will see worse on the strip, but I'd still like them to be able to enter through a non-casino enterance before the ceremony. Caesars has a south enterance right by the wedding chapels, away from the casino so it was perfect for us. The price scared us at first too, and we booked at 2 other chapels before going back to Caesars (yes, 2 deposits lost) but now I know Caesars was the place for us and was all along. It's always been my favorite. And it's not THAT much more than the other 2 places we originally booked at.

I'm local and they still wouldn't let me tour a suite unless I was planning on booking 10+ rooms. Just overall not friendly... Mandalay bay and Aria were the other ones that I was interested in touring and they were very very accommodating

I am having an in-suite at Planet Hollywood. We were able to see the Panorama Suite after talking to the Wedding department. We were not able to see any other quites because they were in use. I think this is pretty standard at most hotels.
In the end I booked our suite and room block through Total Experience because we were not using the chapel.
But you can book the Panorama Suite through their wedding department, it is one of their packages. If you are looking to save some $$, don't tell them you are having an in-suite reception. They will want you to go through their catering department to do this. You can use an outside caterer.

I read somewhere that they're pretty accomadating as far as bringing your own liquor to PH? I dont know if thats true, and its not something I'm keen on asking my WC.. does anyone know about that?

Are you using an outside caterer for your insuite reception? if so, who?

I am using Masterpiece Cuisine for food and we are bringing in our own alcohol.

i was originally looking at PH and had talked to both Ali and the other WC there, both very nice. Ali said as long as you keep quiet about it and are not announcing it all over the place bringing in your own catering and booze is AOK.

the thing is the suites. like PP said they are not really helpful to try and let you see them, I was able to see a panorama, but the only way to book it would be to get it through the wedding dept for a $500 a night upgrade from a hip room (in the wedding pacakage...i think it was called somewhere in time?) which actually would have made PH MORE expensive than MB, and MB gives more stuff in their wedding package.

also, the panorama was too small for my group and the bar area is small. i tried for about a month to get a bigger suite (apex, boulevard, PH towers, anything!!) and they werent willing to let me have it. the WC said for maybe 4G's a night...ummm i can stay in MBs bigger suites for way less than than for all of my nights!

but i did love the young hip feeling to PH, and the chapel was beautiful. it was my top choice. it was a major bummer that they were so unaccommodating, I hope you have better luck!!

(aaaand somehow when i originally posted this it put me in a random thread on the ettiquette board. weird!)
