Difference between Venue Coordinator and DOC?

I'm getting married at the Colonnade, which has a coordinator (formerly Ivette Navarro, but I have no idea who the new person is).  What are the differences between the coordinators responsiblities and the DOCs responsibilities?  Wondering if I even need a DOC if I have a coordinator?

The Venue Coordinator is in charge of the Venue only and the DOC is in charge of everything including the venue.....

I went to a wedding at the Colonnade where the bride didn't hire a DOC and it was a mess for the vendors. I actually knew three of the vendors and they told me how they had to organize themselves bc there wasn't a DOC to tell them how the bride wanted to enter, when they wanted to enter, where to go, where the bride was coming from, etc.

I think the venue coordinator handles their things more than anything (servers, tables, food, etc.) but not too sure they are all into the little details you have or your actual timeline.

Generally, it is like the girls said but it also depends on the Venue Coordinator I guess. Mine is a bit of a nut (in a good way) and she is all about making sure things go right for you and things are done according to how you want them. She told me when we first met that if I want to hire a DOC, thats my choice, but thats what she is there for. I'm fine with that so I didn't hire a DOC, esp because it would add more to the budget.
