When are my July brides sending invites??

I am so clueless about weddings... serioulsy I was the one trying to get FI to go to Vegas, and he wanted the big wedding... I have been married before, but at a JP.

And is everyone waiting to purchase / make favors till the RSVP count is in? That seems like pushing stuff off to the last minute for me .... I like to be done with stuff without rushing.

What else are you putting off if anything till after RSVPs are in??

Re: When are my July brides sending invites??

  • We'll be mailing invites on May 1 for our July 14th wedding. The RSVP date is June 4th. I am holding off on ordering place cards, table numbers, and favors until we have a better idea of how many are coming. It's definitely feeling like crunch time though! We should receive the proof of our invite today - yay!!

  • My wedding is July 14th, and I'll be sending the bulk of my invites around the first week of May. I have a considerable amount that my FMIL will be hand delivering in Peru (that is the custom there), so she is going to do that a bit earlier in April, since that is the only time any one in the immediate family will be down there before the wedding, and international guests may need more time to plan for the wedding.

There are a number of things I need to wait to do (or at least finish) until after I get the RSVPs, so we put the deadline as 5 weeks before the wedding. I'm trying to do as much pre-work for these as I can (e.g. I designed the escort cards, but haven't printed them, I've started working on OOT guest bags, but I won't finish/assemble until the week before the wedding, I choose our favors, but I won't order them until I have a more approximate headcount).

That said, we have a huge number of international guests that we know want to make it, but it's really a big question mark right now how many can. If you have mostly in-town guests, you can probably get a pretty good ballpark on your headcount before you even get RSVPs, so you'll only have details like seating plans to do at the end.

  • Wedding: July 1st

    Mailing: May 1st

    RSVP: June 11th

I just realized that all the dates have ones in them, hahaha
  • Wedding is on the 28th

Probably sending invites out at the end of May (or mid May, we have a lot of OOT guests).

RSVP date is July 1st (venue needs head count 2 weeks before so that will give me time to track down guests who haven't responded)

  • I will prob send my invites out the last week of May/ first week of June and my RSVP are due back July 1st Wedding is July 20th
  • I'm sending mine out 10 weeks ahead with an RSVP date July 1 for a wedding date of July 27.  I've made the base of my favors (wine charms), but won't do the names on them until I get all the RSVPs in.  I'm also holding out on ordering the table runners and making the napkin rings.  It will definitely be crunch time unless I get lucky and people send them in right away.  At least all the kids will be at camp the week before the wedding so that will give me more time to be able to get everything done.

    Wedding Date: July 7

    RSVP Date: June 1

I think I'm going to mail my invites right around May 1, so a little over 2 months out.

As for favors, we already have the favor boxes but we will buy chocolates probably mid June, after we get an idea of how many we need to make. The favors are really easy to put together, so we can wait awhile to assemble them.

We are doing candy for our favors so doing them now would make the candy stale and gross so we are going to wait 2 weeks before the wedding. I already bought the celophane bags and I am working on getting the TY tags and ribbon to tie the bags.

We got our invites in we have to mail them May 5th and the RSVP date is June 23 (our venue needs a head count 1 month before) so that should give us plenty time to figure things out.

  • I don't remember the exact dates we said, and I can''t check because I'm at work. I plan on saving things like escort cards and printing programs for after we have our numbers. Also, my favors are cupcakes and the bakery knows that they won't have my final number until a few weeks before the wedding. Luckily they are ok with that! Our other favors, m&ms will probably be done at least partially before we get number sthough as we have to order them and the containers they'll go in and fill the containers. For the ordering we'll probably use our high end ball park number. I'd rather have to many than to few.

  • Wedding is July 21st, I'm seding my OOT ones now since we skipped the formal RSVPs. For local guests, I don't know, the end or middle of May. My RSVP date is June 30th, but now looking at everyone else's I realize that might be a little close... hmmm..

Not to hi-jack the thread but it's a related question. How long after the final RSVP date is it ok for you to start calling people? Because if the RSVP date is set 4 weeks before the wedding and you need to finish up projects based on attendance, waiting too long after the RSVP date sounds risky to me. I mean can you call the next day? Hahaha

I would start calling a week after the RSVP date in case there was any delay due to stragglers putting it in the mail at the last minute.

And Nati, I LOVE those sandals! They're adorable and dressy but comfortable all at the same time!

In Mail: By May 11, or earlier that week.

RSVP Date: June 16th or 20th. Undecided yet. 16th is a saturday before the week I hope to meet with the vendors like florist and venue for head counts. But the 20th will be easier to remember, since its exactly a month ahead of time.

    Wedding: July 20th.

Im putting off just a couple things. Like for example, Im printing escort cards at home off a template I found. So I might make one for every guest, and delete the ones that are not coming, which could save some time. Im hoping to make half the centerpieces myself, so I will make prolly about 75% of expected numbers by then. And we will wait to order favors till then as well.

I see, a week shouldn't be too bad. And thanks about the sandals. I haven't decided on those exactly yet, but I do like them. Though I showed FI last night and he scrunched his face up. Says they look like eggs *rolls eyes* LOL. I have decided however, the one thing his opinions will NOT influence is what I'm wearing or carrying (like bouquet) that day. Hahaha! I have drawn the line! :-P

We are sending ours out a little bit earlier since we are having a destination wedding and we need to be able to have time for people to make travel arrangements.  We are sending ours out in mid April with and RSVP date of late May or early June. I can't remember what we put now.  We need to order our food in mid June so we are sending them out a little earlier for that reason as well.

    ETA:
We are going to go ahead and order our favors soon.  I am kind of doing two favors. One is a flower lei sincce we are doing a beach wedding. I thought it would be so cute. The other one is a candy buffet so we kind of have to wait for that one.  I need to order the bags with the leis.

  • It's normal in my area to send invites out around the 3 month mark. So I'll be mailing my invites the middle of April or so. I've set the RSVP date at June 20. The venue needs numbers two weeks out s othat gives me 2 weeks to track down late replies.

I am hoping to not wait super late to do favors and such as I am a teacher and June is a super busy month.

  • I'm getting married July 1st.  Planning on sending invites out the last week of April and asking for RSVPs back by May 25th.  Our venue wants a headcount just a little less than a month before~super early, I know.  Most of our guests are OOT so they will be able to RSVP within our time frame.
