Ohio State wedding

I am planning an Ohio State wedding. The tables will be named with places around campus, the colors are scarlet and gray, buckeyes will be incorporated into favors, etc. However, I cannot come up with a good centerpiece idea. Anyone have ideas? It will be next June is that affects any responses

scarlet roses (or just use carnations - it's our state flower).  You could put buckeyes as fillers in the bottom.  Really just anything red as a enterpiece.  People will get it, I don't think you have to go all crazy over the top with the idea.  Keep it classy.

For table numbers, you could have pics of you and groom and two others doing the O-H-I-O at varios spots around town (maybe in a black and white)

Honestly, if you are already planning so much OSU themed stuff.... it might make sense to have more subtle centerpieces. Are the tableclothes going to be scarlet or gray? Or if you are having white/ivory tablecloths you could always do a simple floral centerpice of red roses or something along those lines. You could try floating candles in glasses with a few buckeyes in the bottom of the glass.

I just caution you do an OSU theme tastefully. I once went to an OSU themed wedding (and while I am a huge OSU fan myself) that went overboard and it looked too much like a tailgate party. So just keep that in mind! :)

    good luck with your planning!

I was at an OSU wedding where they had football jerseys as the table numbers / centerpieces.

So you had an Archie Griffin jersey for the Griffin table.  You had a sweatervest for the Tressel table (that was the head table of course).

Being a BIG OSU fan I didn't think this was too much as it was reallly the only OSU thing at the reception.

Our Ohio State wedding is in August of 2012. My fiance graduated from OSU and he wanted to pick the colors, so we're doing bridesmaids in a lighter gray wearing red shoes, and carrying red roses. Groomsmen are wearing red vests with the tuxedos. As for our reception, we are having pictures of us on campus as the table numbers (we're holding different numbers in the shots so the guests know where to go), and we're also doing charcoal linens at the guests tables with red rose runners, and our two parent's tables will have red linens with gray rose runners. I'm doing candelabras on half the tables and candles with bling, red flowers and LED subermigable lights on the other half (alternating every other table). I wanted to let my fiance have his say in our wedding, but we agreed to keep it classy and just do an "OSU nod", I love the candelabra (my family is Jewish) ideas with the diamond crystals and red rose petals under them.
